[CES 2016] We all live in a connected world – at least for many of us out there, and would certainly want to make sure that everything is under control. How about the kitchen – that place too, has seen its fair share of technological advancements, and the folks over at Smarter decided that their new range of accessories will be able to make things easier for everyone. Enter the Mats, Detect and Fridge Cam accessories.
From the name itself, you should be able to figure out just what does each of the devices do. For instance, the Mat is supposedly a smart mat (aren’t they all) that will play nice with the corresponding iOS and Android app. It will connect via Wi-Fi connectivity, and has a 2,000mAh rechargeable lithium ion within. The whole idea of the mat is to place bottle or item on top of it, where it can then detect the weight before letting you know how much milk, or perhaps flour, that you have left.
The circular Detect will also connect via Wi-Fi and has a 2,000mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery, where it functions as the eyes and ears in your kitchen. Whenever it hears the ding of a microwave oven, or the beeping of the washer to indicate that your washing cycle is complete, it will then alert you via a smartphone app – making sure you can attend to the important at the right time. Of course, there are failsafes to make sure that unwanted beeps will not interrupt you.
Last but not least would be the Fridge Cam, and its name suggests that you can have a snapshot of what’s inside each time you close the door, so that you need not have to write down an inventory since you already have a visual snapshot – easy to know just what you need to top up before returning home, as well as keep track of the number of Godiva chocolates left inside.
