3d-quick-accessMozilla has made news headlines earlier this month with word that they will be ending support for the Firefox OS smartphone after version 2.6, but this bit of information that you hear now will certainly lighten up the mood – Firefox for iOS will be speedier than before with 3D Touch capability, among others, in order to take advantage of the latest iOS hardware and software features.

With Firefox for iOS on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, the inclusion of 3D Touch would allow one to access commonly used features in a faster manner than previously. All that you need to do is to press the Firefox app icon in order to open the Quick Access menu, which will then contain shortcuts to Open Last Bookmark, open a New Private Tab or a New Tab.

Apart from that, Firefox for iOS will also support Peek and Pop, where it enables one to preview a tab as well as take the relevant actions such as Add to Reading List, Copy URL or Close Tab with far less fewer steps. You also do not need to have to tap on the page, and wait some time for it to load before tapping on it again to use these popular features. Rather, you can straight away preview such content by lightly pressing on a tab in the tab menu, before swiping up to access such shortcuts. [Press Release]
