meizupro5-ubuntuMeizu is no stranger when it comes to its fair share of smartphones, and this would also include them Ubuntu-powered devices. One of the more recent collaborations between Meizu and Canonical (with the latter being the company that develops the Ubuntu operating system) would be the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition, and this time around, there is yet another smartphone from this rather formidable partnership – where it is known as the Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition.

Judging by its name, this would be the fifth handset that was introduced in the past year, and would also be classified as a flagship device since it is the most high end Ubuntu phone up till now. Similar to the Android-powered version of the PRO 5, the Ubuntu Edition will boast of a 5.7” Full HD AMOLED touchscreen, a 21MP camera at the back complete with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash, a front-facing 5MP camera, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and dual-SIM slots.

One will also make the assumption that it has a 3,050 mAh battery within and 4G LTE support, since everything else is the same as the Android-powered model. Expect the Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition to be available for pre-order internationally when MWC kicks off next week. [Press Release]
