Samsung has received a lot of praise for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. They’re certainly among the best Android flagship handsets that money can buy right now, however, there are not without minor issues. Some Galaxy S7 Edge owners are complaining about palm rejection issues on the device.

The latest Edge variant of Samsung’s flagship smartphone has a larger display than its predecessor, that coupled with the fact that it’s curved at both edges, has found to be causing unintended interaction with the display itself.

The issue here is that Galaxy S7 owners are irked by accidental taps when they’re holding the device in one or both hands. The handset is supposed to reject those taps caused by the palm but apparently that’s not proving to be the case for some users.

Whether or not you’ve experienced this issue largely depends on how you hold the device. I have experienced this myself and it can prove to be a nuisance particularly when watching videos on YouTube.

Clearly there’s room for software optimization here that improves the palm detection feature that’s built into the Galaxy S7 Edge. Or perhaps Samsung can pull a Steve Jobs and just say that users are holding their phone incorrectly.
