If you grew up reading The Little Prince, chances are you were pretty psyched to learn that there was a movie made about the book, or at least it is based on the book with some changes here and there. The movie was expected to debut stateside today, but for some reason, the folks at Paramount decided to cancel its release at the very last minute.

That is the bad news. The good news is that you could soon be streaming the movie in your home. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, word on the street has it that Netflix has picked up the rights to the movie and is expected to begin streaming it via its platform in the US later this year.

This has yet to be officially confirmed, but the movie’s director Mark Osborne posted a series of tweets in which he confirmed that it will be released by another distributor later this year, although he did not mention any names. The Little Prince actually debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year and has grossed $100 million internationally in markets that it was launched in.

It also stars from pretty big names such as Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco and Benicio del Toro. With such commercial success, many are puzzled as to why Paramount decided to skip its US release, but if the Netflix streaming report is true, we guess US viewers will just have to wait for it to arrive on the platform.
