If you were lucky enough to have been chosen to take part in the Overwatch closed beta, then you might be interested to learn that Blizzard has announced that the closed beta will officially come to an end on the 25th of April. According to Blizzard, “The Overwatch Closed Beta has reached its final checkpoint. On April 25, our public testing phase will come to an end and our final preparations for the game’s launch will begin! “

Now for those who weren’t lucky enough to be chosen but are curious about the game, fret not because in addition to Blizzard announcing when the closed beta will end, the company also announced that the open beta will begin from the 5th to the 9th of May. This means that if you did not pre-order the game or weren’t selected for the closed beta, that will be your window of opportunity to take the game for a test run.

Overwatch itself has been pegged for a release on the 24th of May, so gamers will be able to participate in the open beta a couple of weeks ahead of its release. So far feedback on Overwatch has been largely positive which is a good sign for Blizzard, especially when you consider that Overwatch represents a brand new franchise for the company, who has over the years been more or less working with just three: StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo. That being said, Overwatch is available for pre-order so if you haven’t placed your orders yet, you still have time to do so.
