battletagEarlier this year, Blizzard announced that they would be offering a free one-time BattleTag change. For those unfamiliar with BattleTags, basically these are IDs associated with your Battle.net account, so instead of searching for users via email, an alternative would be to search via BattleTag.

Now some of us might have been younger (and less wise) when we chose our BattleTags, meaning that fast forward to today, we might be stuck with a rather silly and embarrassing BattleTag. The good news is that if you’ve already used up your free change, Blizzard has announced that you can pay to make BattleTag changes in the future.

According to Blizzard’s announcement, “While we’ve always provided players with one free BattleTag change per account, now we’re pleased to offer an additional paid BattleTag change service for those of you who would appreciate the opportunity to choose yet another new moniker.”

For those who haven’t used their free BattleTag change, don’t worry as it will remain in place until you do, and then subsequent BattleTag changes will cost you $10 each time you do it, which we guess isn’t too much to ask for something you may only change once or twice. For more details about the BattleTag and changes, hit up Blizzard’s Support Page for the details.
