god-of-warDuring E3 2016, Sony announced and showed off their latest God of War title and we have to say that the game looks pretty damn good. Now some are probably wondering if Sony made the game with the PS4 Pro in mind. After all the console had already been confirmed at that point, and we guess thinking about the future makes sense for any company.

However the good news for gamers not planning on upgrading to the PS4 Pro, you’ll be pleased to learn that what you saw in the demo and videos was designed for the PS4. This means that if you already own the standard PS4, your experience will be pretty much the same as what you’ve seen in the demos.

This is according to a tweet by Cory Balrog, Creative Director on God of War at Sony Computer Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio who said, “What we showed at E3 was running on a standard PS4. The game is designed for standard PS4, don’t need a [PS4] Pro to play.” It is possible that the game on the PS4 Pro will have added visual enhancements, but we guess you could think of that as a bonus feature for playing the game on the PS4 Pro.

With regards to the game’s release date, that’s still pretty much up in the air at the moment so gamers will just have to wait until Sony has a release date that they’re ready to share with us.
