wow-tokenOne of the ways to buy cards in Blizzard’s Hearthstone game is either by using in-game gold earned through winning matches, or purchasing it using real-life money, which can admittedly get rather pricey. However it seems that in the future, it might be possible to use the WoW Token from World of Warcraft to purchase Hearthstone cards.

This is according to Hearthpwn who recently dug up some information and evidence of that being a possibility. According to their findings, it seems that the latest World of Warcraft patch, it has been found that Blizzard is looking to transfer the value of WoW Tokens into the gamer’s Battle.net balance, which means that since WoW Tokens can be bought with World of Warcraft gold, you could soon be able to use gold to purchase Hearthstone cards.

For those unfamiliar with WoW Tokens, these are tokens that were introduced to the game early last year. The idea is that these tokens can be sold on the auction house in the game for in-game gold, thus providing players with a way of buying gold the legal way. Players with a lot of in-game gold can also purchase the tokens and exchange them for game time.

If you’re looking for more evidence, at BlizzCon 2016 earlier this month, the World of Warcraft team revealed that they were looking to expanding the token’s use into other services, like character transfers, faction changes, and so on. No word on when the next patch will be arriving, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
