samsung-logoOne of the rumored features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is that it will be IP68 certified, making it just as water and dust resistant as the Galaxy S7. However it seems that it won’t be the only non-flagship Samsung handset to get such a feature. According to a report from Toranji.ir who attended a Samsung event, the IP68 certification will apply to the entire 2017 Galaxy A lineup.

For those unfamiliar, the Galaxy A lineup is basically Samsung’s mid-range handsets. However what separates them from other mid-rangers would be its build quality which seems to be slightly more premium than most. The fact that they now have an IP68 rating means that they are now more value for money than ever.

Also in case you’re wondering about the IP68 rating, it means that the phone can survive underwater up to a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes, and is pretty much protected from dust entering it. Granted you probably shouldn’t take the phone deep sea diving or swimming, but know that in the event that you accidentally drop it in the toilet or the pool, it will be able to survive that little trip. The new Galaxy A handset has been announced but there is no word on when they will be making their global debut.
