nintendo-switch-skyrimThe Pokemon franchise has largely existed on mobile consoles like the Game Boy and the DS lineup from Nintendo. However could a new Pokemon game be arriving for the home console? It would seem that way, at least according to a recent GameStop listing which suggested that Pokemon will be arriving for the home.

The listing on GameStop has since been taken down, but part of its listing had a description which reads, “Nintendo Switch games will include new title offerings from Mario, Splatoon, Zelda, the NBA and more! You will even be able to play Skyrim on the go, or Pokemon at home with the Nintendo Switch. The unit will also include a number of handy, interchangeable Nintendo Switch accessories”

Like we said, Pokemon has been pretty much almost-exclusive to handheld consoles, but perhaps with the Switch, Nintendo could be trying a new approach. It is possible that because the Switch is meant to double up as a portable console that maybe that’s why Pokemon was created for it.

We cannot confirm if the listing and its description are the real deal, but we wouldn’t be surprised if retailers like GameStop were given information ahead of time to prepare their marketing materials. That being said, more details about the Switch will be revealed on the 12th of January which is this Thursday, so check back with us then for the details.
