You may or may not remember that almost two years ago, Google and Levi’s unveiled plans to work together on connected clothes. They showed off a concept of a jacket which uses Google’s Jacquard technology to transform the jacket’s fabric into what’s basically a canvas that’s controlled by gestures. This jacket is called Commuter and the companies have finally confirmed that it’s going to be launched later this year in the fall for $350.

Google and Levi’s had revealed previously that this jacket would be released as a consumer product but they hadn’t confirmed when it would arrive of just how much it would cost. This was confirmed at SXSW 2017 where the companies revealed that the Commuter jacket is going to be released in the fall for $350.

So what do you get for your money? $350 buys you a smart jacket with a Bluetooth cuff that pairs with a smartphone. This lets you adjust the music volume, get directions, and even answer calls by simply swiping your fingers on the jacket’s fabric.

Google and Levi’s have yet to confirm the price release date but at least now we know that we shouldn’t expect it until the fall, and also that it’s not exactly going to be cheap.
