Not only do drones make for good vehicles for delivering items, but they’re great at capturing video and photo from angles that would normally be impossible without expensive gear or renting a helicopter. This is also why they make for great surveillance tools, which is also why it isn’t surprising that law enforcement are turning towards using them.

In fact over in the UK, the Devon and Cornwall Police force have announced their plans to launch a drone squad that will be operational 24/7. What this means is that these drones will be operated every single day around the clock. The drones have already been put into trial since 2015 and have been running on DJI Inspire 1 drones.

The point of these drones, apart from surveillance, can also be used in a variety of different ways, such as locating missing people in the region. It is also expected that it can be used to chase down suspects and keep the whereabouts of these suspects updated so that ground units will be able to catch up to them.

It is an interesting idea although we can only imagine that there might be some who can’t be too thrilled at the idea of having drones constantly hovering and buzzing over them.
