We have been hearing a fair number of rumors and seen a couple of leaks regarding the HTC U, and we’re sure that just like ourselves, many of you guys are curious as to when the handset will be officially revealed. The good news is that it will be revealed next month, or at least that’s according to an invite that HTC has sent out to the press.

As you can see in the invite above, HTC has teased that the HTC U will be announced on the 16th of May, 2017, which is just a little under a month away from today. The invite shows a very blurred out silhouette of the phone, along with the tagline that reads, “Squeeze for the brilliant”. This is in line with the rumors that the HTC U “Ocean” could have a touch-sensitive frame in which users can squeeze, swipe, and tap to interact with the phone.

This teaser seems to pretty much confirm that, although the exact functionality remains to be seen, but we should have the details soon. So far rumors of the handset have been pretty standard, like it could sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. We also heard that it might feature Bluetooth 5 which debuted with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Other rumors have also suggested that HTC could be dropping the headphone jack from the phone. Either way check back with us on the 16th of May for the details.
