Last year, there was an interesting rumor that suggested that Apple might kill off the Beats brand in favor of their own Apple-branded audio products. However, it was later suggested that maybe that would not be happening and that Apple and Beats audio products would exist side-by-side.

For those wondering about the future of the Beats brand, it seems that it is definitely here to stay. According to a new report from 9to5Mac, it seems that actually back in 2020, Apple hired a certain Scott Croyle where he oversaw Beats product design. Croyle had previously worked at HTC where he helped design phones like the HTC One M7 and M8, and also later worked on the Nextbit Robin smartphone that was ultimately acquired by Razer.

Croyle’s hiring is an interesting one because of his design background, plus if you recall, there was a point in time where HTC and Beats were working together. While we haven’t really seen anything new yet with Croyle’s touch on it, the report claims that the team has actually been studying various speakers from different brands as well as headphones, presumably to see what the competition is up to and how they can beat them.

It has been a while since we last saw a new major Beats product, so it would be nice to see something new, but when exactly that will take place is anyone’s guess.
