Street Fighter fans will be happy to find out that Capcom has confirmed Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition today. It’s an updated version of the existing game that comes with new modes as well as some post-launch downloadable content. Capcom is going to release Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition early next year.

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is going to bring an Arcade Made, an Extra Battle Mode, and new V-Trigger moves. Other than that, the title gets a completely redesigned user interface and a new gallery of illustrations.

In the Extra Battle Mode, players face a new series of time exclusive challenges which they can use their Fight Money on for the chance to receive an exclusive premium outfit every month. If they complete all four challenges every month then they will receive a special premium costume that’s exclusive to this mode.

Players will find matches and bonus stages that are based on Street Fighter games from years past, such as the original Street Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha, and others. According to Capcom, this latest version of the game is for players to reminisce in Street Fighter series history as they celebrate the last 30 years of this popular franchise.

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is going to cost $39.99 on PlayStation 4 and PC. It includes the first two seasons of downloadable characters. Existing Street Fighter 5 owners will get the new modes but not the DLC characters. Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition will be released on January 16th, 2018.
