With Facebook being such a big part in our lives these days, it’s not surprising to see many businesses created Facebook Pages for their business/brand, where they can use it to announce new products, services, updates, and also interact with customers who can reach them by chatting with them on Facebook Messenger.

However it seems that will be changing slightly and also for the better. In a recent update to Facebook, the company has introduced a Customer Chat plug-in where businesses can install this plug-in on their website and integrate Facebook Messenger on it. What this means is that if you wanted to chat with a business on Facebook Messenger, you no longer have to open up Facebook to do so as you will be able to do that on that business’s website itself.

These conversations can be continued across various platforms or websites, like you could continue a conversation you’re having with a customer service rep on Facebook, onto its website, and also onto your phone if you’re about to leave the house. The plug-in is also said to support various Facebook Messenger features like payments and rich media.

At the moment the feature is in closed beta testing which means that not all businesses can participate just yet, but those who are interested and register themselves on a waitlist on Facebook’s website.
