It’s not surprising to see Instagram being updated frequently with new features and it appears that a minor yet useful feature may be rolled out soon for all Instagram users. The photo-sharing network has started testing inline comments in the feed. The inline comment box will be visible while scrolling the feed, this will enable users to quickly write and post comments without having to leave their feed.

Initial reports suggested that Instagram was possibly relying on an algorithm to decide on which post this inline comment box will pop up. While that would have been cool in its own way, that’s not how Instagram is going about it.

The inline comments box will pop up after a user looks at a post for more than a few seconds. So if you care enough about a post to stop scrolling your feed and look at it closely, Instagram is going to display the inline comment box so that you can fire off a comment quickly and get back to scrolling your feed.

The box will remain on these posts even when you scroll down and then scroll up again. However, it reportedly disappears when the app is closed and reopened.

Instagram is reportedly testing this feature right now on a small scale so it’s unclear when it’s going to go live for all users. When it does, it’s surely going to make life easier for a lot of them.
