There have been rumors suggesting that due to Samsung announcing the Galaxy S9, S9+ on the 25th February at MWC 2018, it might have deterred other companies from making their own announcements, such as Huawei who we have heard might not announce the Huawei P20 at the event.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but in the meantime it seems that Huawei has confirmed that they will be in attendance at MWC 2018. In a post on Weibo (via Ausdroid), Huawei revealed that they will be attending the event, and also confirmed that they will be hosting an event towards the end of March for new products, which presumably will include the Huawei P20.

As to what the company could unveil at MWC 2018 is anyone’s guess. Perhaps we could be seeing some mid-range handsets, or maybe we could be looking at fitness bands, or a new smartwatch, but for now it is unclear save for the fact that Huawei will be there. However the P20 seems like a rather exciting device to look forward to, based on leaked renders.

Assuming the leaks are accurate, the P20 could be the first smartphone to pack three cameras on the back, versus the competition which for the most part features a dual camera setup.
