While battle royale style games are currently the trend, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that MOBA games are still just as popular, if not more so. We’re talking about games like League of Legends, DotA 2, Mobile Legends, and more. The good news for Nintendo Switch gamers who want to play a MOBA on their consoles, Arena of Valor will be the title to look forward to.
The game has been announced for the Switch and is currently scheduled for a release this fall. The game is currently in closed beta on the console and so far initial reviews have been pretty positive. In case you’re not familiar with Arena of Valor, this is a MOBA that is popular in markets such as China.
It has since found its way to the US and is said to be one of the highest grossing games on the app store to date, even finding some success as an eSports title. It has also managed to nab some interesting partnerships with DC where we’ve seen characters such as Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Joker, and Superman make their appearance in the game.
The final release on the Switch will provide gamers with access to the full roster of characters, but unfortunately it seems that there are no plans for cross-play between mobile and Switch gamers for now.
