Huawei recently said that it’s aiming to ship 200 million smartphones in 2018 and it’s following up that announcement by revealing some impressive numbers for the Huawei P20 series. The company has revealed that it has sold more than 6 million P20 + P20 Pro handsets so far.

The figure comes from Huawei’s smartphone chief Kevin Ho who mentioned it in a talk at the Consumer Electronics Show Asia. He also said that sales of the P20 are up 81 percent compared to their predecessor last year.

It has shipped more than six million units of the P20 series during the first three months after launch, a substantial increase compared to the 3.3 million units shipped by the P10 series in the same period last year.

The figures are impressive to say the least, but the company’s smartphone chief didn’t provide a breakdown so it’s unclear which particular model has proven to be more successful with customers.

Huawei is not done with launching new smartphones this year. It has another flagship in the pipeline called the Mate 20 which is due in the second half of 2018. The Huawei Mate 20 is expected to feature a display that would be almost 7 inches if recent reports are to be believed.
