Naturally this did not sit well and there are some who are calling for Facebook to be investigated over their experiment.

Interestingly enough despite the backlash, online dating website OKCupid has recently announced that they have been conducting experiments on its users as well. russiankeyboardAs you’re probably aware by now, China is not the biggest fan of Microsoft and has accused the company of anti-monopoly activities and also to a certain extent, spying. Well it looks like Russia too has fears about spying, although not necessarily from Microsoft. The Mac version basically sits in the system tray and does nothing unless you tell it to, making it slightly less intrusive. That being said, users will be able to toggle the app and have it automatically detect songs that it hears in the background. This might come in handy if you’re watching TV or sitting in a cafe with your laptop open. Read full post →Shazam For Mac Now Available For Download

robot broken legCan robots actually know how feelings are like? I suppose if one could boil down feelings to a series of 1s and 0s, then it would be a phenomenal breakthrough, but until then, abstract ideas such as courage and perseverance would be difficult for a robot to “know”. However, robots can be programmed to have a sense of “perseverance”, which would be to go on until it is not physically possible to do so. Engineers have successfully come up with a robot that will reassess its walking options and continue to the destination despite carrying a broken leg.
