android dinoDon’t you just love it when Google exhibits that kind of creative juice whenever they hide an Easter Egg somewhere in their software or apps? Having said that, one of their more recent Easter Egg engagements, if you can call it that, involve the latest Chrome Beta for Android version. In fact, this particular Easter Egg wants to make sure that the proverbial Jack does not end up being a dull boy through plenty of work, as it serves up a fun mini-game that will involve the pixelated dinosaur who turns up on Chrome’s “You’re offline” page.

google now launcher 640x509It has been some time now that Google Now, which is the voice activated assistant of Android, was capable of launching apps when one makes a request. It looks like things have managed to move along in a better manner now, as Google has just introduced the ability within Google Now itself to actually kick off a search – and to do so within any app in the handset itself.

sound blaster x7 640x536When it comes to gaming rigs, gamers tend to focus on the graphics component and tend to go for the best GPU that they can afford. Sound quality is usually an afterthought, or in the case of some gamers, not even considered at all as they are perfectly happy with their motherboard’s onboard sound card and their headphones.

However if you consider yourself to be a gamer and an audiophile, then you might be interested to learn that Creative’s Sound Blaster X7 will be launching this December, although with a price tag of around $400, it is definitely one of the slightly more expensive computer speakers that one can buy today, but we guess that’s the price you’ll have to pay for quality. stylus1s 350x271 640x480Around this time last year, Olympus announced the Stylus 1 camera, which is why we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that Olympus has refreshed the camera by announcing the Olympus Stylus 1s. Unfortunately for photographers, it looks like the Stylus 1s will be exclusive to the Japanese market for now, but perhaps Olympus could bring it to international markets in the future, who knows?

That being said, the Stylus 1s is not a huge upgrade over its predecessor from last year. In fact most of its specs will be kept the same, which means that users can look forward to a 12MP CMOS sensor, a 28-300mm f/2.8 lens, 7fps continuous shooting mode, and an ISO range of 100-12800. Its 3-inch 1.04 million dot touchscreen display will also remain part of the camera. Read full post →Olympus Stylus 1s Camera Announced For Japan

nintendo new 3ds 2014 11 640x413A few months ago, Nintendo announced new Nintendo 3DS & 3DS XL handheld consoles. With the slightly upgraded specs and with the addition of a new control, it certainly looks like Nintendo has made the console a little more desirable, especially for those who were still on the fence regarding the console.

That being said if you were thinking about getting your hands on it, you will be disappointed to learn that Nintendo has delayed the release of the new consoles for both the US and European markets. The console was released in Japan this month and according to Nintendo, they have since managed to sell 234,000 units so far. ps4 hrdware large18 640x334It is no secret that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is doing well for itself. In fact earlier this year about half a year since its release, the Sony had managed to sell over 7 million PlayStation 4 units, so what about recently? Well according to Sony’s recent financials, it has been revealed that the company had managed to ship 3.3 million PlayStation 4 units from July to September.

Sony also noted that they had managed to ship 800,000 PlayStation 3 units during that same time period, although given that amount, it is safe to say that demand for the PlayStation 3 console is starting to dwindle, despite its larger library of games and more affordable price tag, but we suppose all good things must come to an end, right? highlights inboxWhen we receive a new email, it will tell us who it’s from, the subject, and maybe a little snippet. This is great for regular conversations between you and your friends, family, or co-workers, but what if it is regarding a hotel booking or a flight that you are scheduled to take? Well Google’s Inbox has recently been updated and with the update, it will allow developers to make their emails stand out from the crowd.

This new feature is called Highlights and it basically shows the user at a glance the information that the sender believes is important. For example if you have an upcoming flight, airline companies who send out the email will be able to make it so that the “Check in” action is available at a glance, as well as the live flight status information. currentc 640x299If there is a reason why many are against the CurrentC mobile payment system proposed by the MCX group is not only are they disallowing the use of other mobile payments offered by other parties, but it is also a slightly convoluted system which seems anything but efficient. However if there is one thing it has done, it would be to bring iOS and Android fans together to rally against the system.

Well as it turns out, it looks like CurrentC could have made themselves more enemies in the form of Windows Phone and BlackBerry users. It seems that if you’re a Windows Phone or a BlackBerry user and you were thinking of checking out the service when it launches next year, well you’d be out of luck.
