battlefield hardlineJust like how Activision has a new Call of Duty game every year, EA has a new Battlefield game on an annual basis as well. In fact this year EA released Battlefield Hardline. That being said the Battlefield franchise has been going on for a while now but it looks like EA is not done milking that cash cow just yet.

During the company’s latest investor call, the company’s CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed that a new Battlefield shooter would be making its way onto consoles come 2016. This was in response to a question asked about future core titles in which Jorgensen basically confirmed that a Battlefield game for 2016 was planned. ff7 remakeLast month at E3, Square Enix surprised us all when they announced that they are working on a Final Fantasy VII remake. It should be noted that it is a remake as opposed to a remaster so not only will the game get upgraded graphics, but it will also come with new features and game mechanics, but at the same time hopefully not deviating from the story too much.

That being said in a recent interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura unveiled some additional details of the game. For starters, Nomura revealed that they would be making some “dramatic changes” to the game’s Active Time Battle system, but he also clarified what it will not end up being. You might recall last week we reported on an interesting albeit novel invention in the form of a bed that can catapult its sleeper. The idea is that it will be a good way to wake up heavy sleepers who have the tendency to sleep through alarm clocks. After all we’re pretty sure that once ejected they’d be pretty damn awake.

Now last week its inventor Colin Furze showed up the prototype which was basically the bed frame and promised that a demonstration would be shown off this week, and true to his word a demonstration video has recently been uploaded onto YouTube (you can check it out above). Furze told the folks at Mashable that it took him two weeks to build it and that it apparently worked on the first try. Read full post →High Voltage Ejector Bed Demonstrated On Video

banner-sagaNow this is a reversal in roles for sure – in the past, it was board games that are deemed to have taken the “next step” by being translated into a computer game, although the success rate varies from title to title. I still remember the first version of Blood Bowl on the PC, it was hilarious and full of blood, although the tabletop game was a whole lot better to play. Same goes for Space Hulk, as the board game was a lot more engaging than the PC version that proved to be extremely difficult as the Genestealers seem to steal a march on your team all too often. Well, Stoic’s tactical role-playing series with a Viking theme, known as The Banner Saga, is taking the reverse route, by developing a miniatures board game adaptation that will be known as The Banner Saga: Warbands.

MasterCard_logoElectronic payment methods do seem to be catching on these days, although there is still plenty of work that needs to be done in this department. Both MasterCard and Samsung Electronics have decide to “invade” Europe by extending their global partnership. windows 10It has been about a couple of days since Windows 10 was officially released, and so we’re sure many are wondering how is the operating system faring so far? As it turns out Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform is doing pretty well. According to a report from WinBeta, it seems that the install count has hit 10 million.

This is mighty impressive given that it has only been a couple of days. Not to mention it also puts Windows 8’s 4 million install count over the launch weekend to shame. However we should note that this number has yet to be officially acknowledged by Microsoft as it was told to WinBeta from their sources, so take it with a grain of salt for now. olio gold smartwatchSmartwatches for the most part look kind of geeky, so if you’re planning on dressing formal, perhaps a smartwatch might not be the best accessory to go with your look. However earlier this year, a company by the name of Olio launched their first batch of smartwatches which have been designed to look luxurious.

The overall design also makes the smartwatch look more traditional so that it doesn’t stand out too much. However if you wanted an even more luxurious version, Olio is happy to entertain as the company has recently unveiled its 24k gold smartwatch. There will also be an 18k rose gold option which according to the company is made from “very pure real gold”. Read full post →Olio’s Luxury Smartwatch Gets Decked Out In 24k Gold

windows 10 updatesWhen you’re downloading updates for Windows, usually it comes directly from Microsoft’s servers which means that there is a finite amount of bandwidth Microsoft is able to allocate to you, especially when you consider that there could be thousands of other users looking to download the updates at the same time.

For the most part the updates are pretty fast although it seems that with Windows 10, it looks like Microsoft is finding ways to make pushing out updates even faster, and apparently one of the ways they’re looking at is to use some of your bandwidth. As you can see in the screenshot above, this is an option that you can choose to enable or disable. Read full post →Windows 10 Will Use Your Bandwidth To Push Updates To Others

arbor-gladiusMost of us would think that tablets are pretty fragile in nature, and perhaps that should not come across as a surprise. After all, the larger screen size, coupled with our tendency to get into unwanted accidental drops, tend to be a devastating combo. It is a good thing that there has been a market for rugged tablets, targeting industries which need decent computing power on the move without the bulk of a laptop. Arbor Solution has pitted their Gladius G1052C against the likes of the Xplore XC6, HP ElitePad 1000 G2, and the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1.
