imgur-iphone-new

The day many Imgur users have been patiently waiting for has arrived. The new official Imgur app for iPhone has finally been released today. It is now available for download from the App Store. The internet’s favorite image hosting service says that this new app does one thing “incredibly well,” which is making it easy for users to browse and comment.

Instead of presenting users with a grid of small images which they can click on the app brings what is essentially a never-ending row of cards. Users can swipe left or right and quickly see the entire stream of posts shared on Imgur.

Sorting options are there so content can be viewed based on recency and popularity. Navigation and menus recede to the background so that the content remains front and center. Quick voting, favoriting and commenting is a major focus in the app so that the community can easily engage using their iPhones.

Imgur does point out that the new app is missing some crucial features, including the ability to upload photos, but it promises that the feature will arrive soon.

This new app is also destined for Android so expect it to arrive for Google’s mobile platform in the near future as well. The new Imgur app for iPhone is free to download from the App Store.
