China hasn’t always been that open to gaming consoles but recently it lifted the ban and allowed companies to bring their gaming machines to the People’s Republic. Microsoft was quick to confirm that the Xbox One will be launched this September. However a couple of days back Microsoft announced that the Xbox One release in China had been delayed. Initially it was believed that the release may have been pushed back by a couple of months but Microsoft has made an announcement today that’s certainly going to be welcomed by the people in China.

ios 8 adoptionAccording to earlier reports, it was suggested that iOS 8’s adoption rate was around 30% less than a week since its release. However it seems that Apple themselves have a different number because according to the Apple developer support page (via MacRumors), it seems that they are boasting a much more impressive 46% adoption rate.

This seems to suggest that almost 50% of iOS users have adopted iOS 8 since its release last week. As you can see in the pie chart, iOS 7 is still maintaining its lead at 49%, with other operating systems sitting at 5%. The company has proudly announced how they have managed to sell millions upon millions of consoles, versus Microsoft who seems to have only announced shipping numbers, which as we have pointed out in the past, are very different numbers altogether.

However both consoles are barely a year old which means there is still plenty of time and plenty of games that could shift the scales in either side’s favor, but according to one analyst Eiichi Katayama, he seems to believe that Sony will most likely end up being the one dominating the console space. As gamers might have heard by now, there will be new Pokemon games coming up soon in the form of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and to commemorate the launch of the new games, Nintendo has also taken the wraps off two new Nintendo 2DS consoles.
