apple watch bandWhen the Apple Watch was launched, there were a selection of bands that users could choose from, but they were pretty much all from Apple. For some this might not be a big deal, for others they might prefer to have more choices. Last week we reported that according to an Apple Watch guide, there was reference made to third-party bands.

Well for users who love choices and customization, you will be pleased to learn that Apple has indeed launched such a program. This program is basically similar to the Made for iPhone program, except that it is called the Made for Apple Watch program but basically third-party manufacturers will have to adhere to certain guidelines in order to receive the certification from Apple. htc-one-m9-live-2HTC has always put out great smartphones, but unfortunately the company lacks the same branding power as Samsung or Apple, possibly due to the fact that they can’t spend as much in terms of marketing and advertising. However it seems that this year, the HTC One M9 is not doing as well as they should.

During the company’s recent earnings, the company’s revenue dropped by 38.6% which is the worse than the same period last year. In fact the drop also represents the worst April the company has had in the last six years and apparently the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 in the handset is to blame for the phone’s lackluster sales. apple tv remoteIt has been rumored that a new Apple TV could be in the works and recent shipment slipping times seem to indicate that a launch is nearing. While we can’t confirm with certainty about what kind of features that new Apple TV will bring to the table, a report from The New York Times has revealed that at the very least, Apple will be introducing a new design for its remote control.

The Apple TV remote control is pretty minimal in its design, and it seems that the minimalism will continue, or further expounded on if the report is any accurate. For starters Apple will be introducing a touchpad to the remote, thus allowing users a more smoother way of navigating the set-top box. Read full post →Upcoming Apple TV Remote To Sport A New Design

nikolalabsCompanies like uBeam are trying to create wireless charging that relies on ultrasonic technology to charge your phone, thus in the process creating a “true” wireless charging feature that will not require phones to sit on wireless charging mats. Now if you’re looking for alternatives, Nikola Labs co-founder Dr. Rob Lee might have the solution for you.

Instead of using a transmitter and ultrasonic power to charge your phones, Nikola Labs’ technology will instead rely on stray radio waves to help slowly recharge your phone through a specially-designed case. The idea is that instead of allowing radio frequencies to be “wasted”, why not harness it and use it to charge our phones in the process? iPhone6C_003With the iPhone being as popular as it is, Apple has no trouble placing huge amounts of orders with their suppliers. In fact according to a recent report, it seems that Sony is having some trouble keeping up with the orders for their camera sensors which apparently Apple is wanting a lot of at the moment, so much so that other smartphone OEMs are having a hard time trying to get hold of components.

The sensors ordered by Apple are apparently going towards the rumored iPhone 6c, a handset which may or may not sport a 4-inch display and a plastic body which is similar to that of the iPhone 5c. So far the rumors claim that the device may not be launched this year but in this particular report, it claims that it will. We can’t be sure until Apple makes an announcement so take it with a grain of salt for now. Read full post →Apple Reportedly Hogging Sony Camera Sensor Orders

myfitnesspalFor fitness enthusiasts who keep track of their calorie intakes, apps such as MyFitnessPal are probably known to them. The app is free to use and for the most part does a great job of keeping track of what you eat, your weight, and more. However it looks like the company will be taking things further by launching a paid premium service.

This premium service will cost users $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year. This will not replace the free features currently offered by the app. Instead it will add more features to the app and will also not come with ads that might otherwise be annoying or intrusive for users. According to the app’s founder Mike Lee, “People want to go beyond the calorie. We want to offer them a way to make custom reports, to dig deeper into the nutrient density of the food, and to customize the measurements used to plan their meals.” Read full post →MyFitnessPal Launches Paid Premium Service
