samsung-galaxy-s6_012The Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 are very different phones, but yet when it comes to comparing Android to iOS, both company’s flagship smartphones are usually dragged into the argument. That being said with the launch of the Galaxy S6, a report from ATLAS Research & Consulting claims that this has negatively impacted the sale of the iPhone 6.

The report claims that Apple has sold an estimated 35,000 units in the second week of April. However this is following the launch of the Galaxy S6 and actually represents a drop of 1,700 units from the week before. This is versus the 79,586 units of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge that was sold in the first six days of their launch, although they were only comparing offline sales, as in sales made through shops and retailers, not online. Mass-Effect-Characters-MuralMass Effect 4 is currently in development but exactly what kind of features the game will have remains to be seen, along with a possible story, characters, and so on. However according to a recent post on Reddit (via PC Gamer), the poster claims to have received a survey from last month which more or less clues us in as to what we might be able to expect.

Of course all of this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but developers do send out surveys from time to time to get an idea of what gamers want. This does not mean that the features listed in surveys are a sure thing, but sometimes it does hint at the direction that developers are planning to take. game-of-thrones-telltaleGame of Thrones viewing parties are pretty common, but it seems in an effort to cut down as much piracy as possible, HBO has recently sent a cease and desist letter to a bar called Videology that is based in Brooklyn. The bar has held numerous viewing parties in the past but this is the first time they’ve been told to stop.

Videology has confirmed that they will comply with the letter, and in a statement issued by HBO,  “As a pay subscription service, HBO should not be made available in public establishments. When it does happen, it is of particular concern when there is an attempt to profit off the programming. This is nothing new as we have taken such actions for well over a decade.” Read full post →HBO Puts An End To Game Of Thrones Viewing Party At Brooklyn Bar

japan maglevLast week we reported that during a testing of Japan’s upcoming maglev train, the company managed to break its previous record by traveling at a speedy 366mph. However we reported that the company had planned on breaking that record this week and sure enough they have as the train managed to clock speeds of 375mph.

This isn’t that much faster compared to its previous speed but at speeds of 375mph, we have to say that it’s already pretty mind blowing. That being said, thankfully for passengers who aren’t exactly thrilled about traveling that fast, the trains are only expected to be traveling at speeds of around 313mph which would beat out Shanghai’s own maglev where the top speed is 311mph. Lamps have been around for decades and all sorts of shapes and designs have been created since then. However if you’re in the market for something futuristic and one that will have your guests talking, then perhaps the Lunaluxx levitating lamp might be just what the doctor ordered as it should have no problems doing just that.

As the name implies, the Lunaluxx is a lamp that features a light emitting disc that is freely suspended mid air. How this is achieved is thanks to a built in electromagnetic coil inside the lamp itself, and a magnet that is installed on the disc. Through the regulation of the current, which is done about 1,000 times per second, it helps to keep the disc floating in the air while the lamp is active. clear_appWe’ve all made a post or comment or two in the past that might be embarrassing if we were to look back at it today, especially if it was made a few years ago when we were younger and more brash. Now those posts could potentially land us in hot water especially amongst our employers as some people have found out the hard way.

Thankfully you won’t have to live with your mistakes much long thanks to an app called Clear. The app is designed to help scour your social media pages, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and delete content which it deems inappropriate. iwcWe have seen Swiss watchmakers such as Breitling and Swatch making plans to enter the smartwatch business, but it looks like luxury watchmaker IWC will be sitting this one out. Speaking to Bloomberg, IWC’s CEO George Kern stated that his company will not be making a smartwatch anytime soon.

When asked about his thoughts on smartwatches, Kern believes that these devices will most likely end up competing with the lower-end market. He also states that IWC is a luxury brand and he does not think that Apple and their Apple Watch will not be able to compete with them, despite the Apple Watch Edition targeted at the wealthy.
