google hurricaneHurricane season is upon us and in an effort to help keep its users informed, Google has announced some changes that they will be making to its search results. Basically if you’re going to be searching for news about hurricanes or tornados, Google’s search results will now display maps showing you where these hurricanes or tornados are.

This includes showing you a map of where your location is in relation to the oncoming storm, visualizations of its forecasted track, wind speed, arrival time, courtesy of NOAA, and it will also provide users with instructions on how to prepare and stay safe, all of which will be based on the intensity of the storm and its arrival time relative to where you are. DF-ST-87-06962If the IDC’s recent figures are right, Apple is apparently the world’s second largest wearable maker, and it seems that their efforts with the Apple Watch are paying off. According to a report from Reuters, it seems like Apple along with Boeing and Harvard, just to name a few, will be working with the Pentagon in developing wearables.

These wearables appear to be mainly focusing on flexibility because apart from being worn by people, the idea is that these wearables could potentially be molded where they can be equipped on the outside of jets or even ships, wearables that can be worn by soldiers or used to monitor structural integrity. fb photo editWhen you upload photos onto Facebook, it’s a relatively straightforward process where you select the photos you want, add a caption, tag a friend, and you’re done. If you want to post-process your photo, you will need to do it beforehand on a separate app, like Photoshop for example.

However according to a report from The Next Web, it seems that Facebook has stepped up their photo editing tools on the web. Now when users upload photos onto the social media’s website, they have the option of doing more than just adding captions and tagging friends, as you can see in the screenshot above. xbox-one-hands-on-review-02The Xbox One at the moment is Microsoft’s current console, although based on what we’ve seen in the past, we wouldn’t be surprised if in the future, Microsoft will make some design changes, maybe introduce a slimmer version of the console, and so on. However there has been a rumor suggesting that Microsoft could go further than that.

The rumor claims that Microsoft is working on an Xbox One Mini which is said to be a third the size of the original Xbox One. Now if you like that idea or if you hate that idea, either way it turns out that it is not true. This has been confirmed by Microsoft’s Xbox boss Phil Spencer who replied to a question on Twitter about the alleged console. Read full post →Phil Spencer Dismisses Xbox One Mini Rumors

There are many out there who feel that services such as Uber are taking jobs away from regular cab drivers. Whether or not you believe this is the case is a debate for another day, but in the meantime it seems that over in New York City, an app by the name of Arro will be trialed in an attempt to give NYC cabs a more competitive edge.

In fact the app itself functions more or less similar to how Uber’s own app works. When it is used to hail a cab, the driver will see your name and location on their screen. In turn when your fare has been accepted, you will then receive the driver’s name and medallion number, and it will also be able to save your credit card details so you can use the app to pay for your fare and even tip your driver. lg nexus renderThe most recent rumor we have heard about the LG Nexus (2015) is that it will be released on the 29th of September. While the rumor did not mention anything about the Huawei Nexus, we can only assume that it will share a similar date, unless LG and Huawei plan on holding separate events, but given that these are Nexus devices, chances are Google will be calling the shots.

That being said, famed leaked @OnLeaks has posted a new rendering of the upcoming LG Nexus handset. This is a much clearer render from what we’ve seen before and it also lines up with an earlier leaked image. However what’s missing from this render is the Nexus branding on the back, but given that this is a rendering, perhaps it wasn’t designed to be used as marketing material, hence the omission of certain features. iphone-6s-shoplemonde-02The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have been confirmed for a 9th of September launch. So far we know that the phone will be available in at least three different colors – silver, space grey, and gold. However recent rumors have suggested we could be looking at a rose gold option, and if you’re wondering if that is true, it could very well be.

9to5Mac has reported that their sources have informed them that a rose gold iPhone 6s and 6s Plus option is the real deal. Given the publication’s reputation and track record for these leaks and rumors, there is some credibility to their claims. However according to them, it will not look exactly the same as the rose gold Apple Watch. Read full post →New Report “Confirms” Rose Gold iPhone 6s Option

nexus-5-review--018The rumors are suggesting that this year we could be treated to two Nexus handsets. One from Huawei and the other from LG. Unfortunately apart from leaked photos and alleged specs surfacing online, it’s really anyone’s guess as to when these phones will actually be launched, but now we might have a date.

The latest rumor comes courtesy of the Korean media who claims that on the 29th of September, the LG Nexus (2015) will be released. Unfortunately the source did not mention anything about the Huawei Nexus, presumably because LG is a Korean brand that they might have more insider information on, but it’s safe to assume Google will want to launch both devices simultaneously. lg-g4-industrial-design-18If the rumors are to be believed, LG is said to be working on a new flagship device that will be launched towards the end of the year. While the handset has yet to be named, some have given it the name of the LG G4 Pro. The device is said to be of the phablet variety and now thanks to rumors from the Korean media, the handset’s alleged specs have been revealed.

Like we said, the LG G4 Pro is said to be of the phablet variety. This means that you can expect a device with a large display, but how big are we talking about? According to the rumors, it will apparently pack a 5.8-inch display and will come with a QHD resolution, so if you like your displays large and resolutions sharp, this ought to do the trick.
