Earlier this year we reported that Nintendo was expected to bring Super Smash Bros. to the Nintendo 3DS this summer, but later it was revealed that the game had been delayed to October. Now the good news is that if you were looking forward to trying your hand at the 3DS version of the game to decide if you should get it or go for the Wii U version, which is pegged for a release in winter, Nintendo will be providing demos of the game at SDCC.

Nintendo has recently announced a new initiative at SDCC where attendees will be able to request for Super Smash Bros. demos simply by tweeting at Nintendo. As you can see in the instructions above, all the gamer would have to do is snap a photo of their location, tweet it with the appropriate hashtag, and if they’re lucky a Nintendo representative will make their way towards them with the game in hand for them to try. apple store chinaApple has faced multiple lawsuits in the past, and we guess this comes with the territory of being one of the larger tech companies in the world. Well it looks like this time Apple is hit with a new lawsuit, and no, it’s not from a disgruntled customers, patent trolls, or one of their many rivals in the industry, but instead it is a class action lawsuit filed on the behalf of over 20,000 Apple employees.

According to the report from TechCrunch, the lawsuit alleges that Apple had violated labor laws of over 20,000 of their employees, claiming that the Cupertino company had failed to pay timely wages to their employees amongst other things. The lawsuit was actually filed back in 2011 by four former Apple employees working in retail and corporate, but has since been certified as a class action lawsuit yesterday. ASUSAC87leftfront 640x637Earlier this year at CES 2014, ASUS took the wraps off their RT-AC87 router. Well it looks like after several months, ASUS has officially announced that they will be launching the device, a device which they are claiming is the world’s first Wave 2 802.11ac consumer router. They also claim it is the fastest at 5GHz with speeds up to 1.73Gbps, at least for now until someone else comes along with something better.

That being said, the Wave 2 technology found in the RT-AC87 router will allow for better reliability and speed boosts, along with overall performance improvements. It will also be ideal for homes or places where more than one device needs to connect to the router and where they don’t want speeds to be too impacted, although this will largely depend on your internet connection too, of course. lumia 530 640x371We have been hearing rumors about the Nokia Lumia 530 for a while now. The handset is said to be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 520, a handset that does not have the best specs, but has managed to become one of the best selling Windows Phone handsets to date. We can only assume that Microsoft is hoping to replicate that success with the Lumia 530.

That being said we have yet to hear an announcement from Microsoft regarding the handset’s launch or availability, or pricing for that matter, but according to a recent listing on a Vietnamese retailer’s website (via GSM Arena), perhaps its image and its specs could have been revealed a little ahead of time. CortanaThere has been a lot of hype and anticipation surrounding Cortana, the voice assistant feature for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system. Cortana is expected to make its way to the UK in the coming weeks and according to the reports, British users will be pleased to learn that Microsoft has given Cortana a British accent, at least for their side of the world.

It might seem like a novel addition but by making Cortana sound a bit more familiar to users, the experience won’t be too alien and would actually be somewhat comforting to hear. In fact one of the things Microsoft is striving for with Cortana is for its users to speak to it naturally, like they would if they were holding a conversation with friends, as opposed to yelling commands at it and trying to get it to work. A few months ago, Nokia took the wraps off the Nokia Lumia 930 which is essentially the same phone as the Nokia Icon, a handset exclusive to Verizon’s network. So with the Nokia Lumia 930 making its way to different markets around the world, it seems that it could have run into a problem over in Germany.

According to several reports across the Nokia Support forums and the popular German Windows Phone forums, it seems that German Lumia 930 owners are experiencing screen flickering on their device. This is very apparent when their handsets are using 2G/Edge connectivity, instead of 3G. Read full post →German Nokia Lumia 930 Units Experiencing Screen Flickering

microsoft surface pro 3 20 640x426Earlier this year, many were pretty certain that Microsoft would be announcing the Surface Mini at their BUILD conference. That obviously did not happen, instead we were greeted by the more powerful and larger Surface Pro 3, which we can’t really complain about. The rumors that followed suggested that the tablet had been cancelled, although it was later said to be on track again, but thanks to Microsoft’s recent earnings report, it seems that they have indirectly confirmed the tablet’s cancellation.

According to a note in the hardware section of the company’s earnings report, “[c]urrent year cost of revenue included Surface inventory adjustments resulting from our transition to newer generation devices and a decision to not ship a new form factor.” Presumably that “new form factor” is in reference to the Surface Mini.
