chrome 1bnLast week we reported that Hangouts for Android had managed to hit 1 billion preinstalls. This is impressive in the sense that it shows how many Android devices are out there, but at the same time we suppose it is “cheating” given that all Android phones come with Hangouts preinstalled, but the same cannot be said for Chrome.

Chrome for Android has recently hit 1 billion installs and is now part of an exclusive club in which only a handful of apps are able to boast that claim. What makes it even more impressive is the fact that unlike other Google apps and services that come preinstalled on Android phones, Chrome did not start out as being a preinstalled app. Read full post →Chrome for Android Hits 1 Billion Installs

asus gtx 980iGiven how big some GPUs can get with the extra fans and heatsinks, they can also be quite heavy as well. Plus with the way they are mounted on your computer’s motherboard, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are some gamers who might be worried about it potentially bending due to the weight and position while it is mounted in their case.

Well if that is one of your concerns, or maybe you’d just rather not worry about it completely, you’re in luck as ASUS has recently taken the wraps off their latest GPU – the Strix GeForce GTX 980 Ti which actually comes with what the company calls a GPU fortifier which is essentially a reinforced backplate that supposedly prevents the card from bending over time. Now you’re probably wondering how is that a slider? It looks a bit too long and there doesn’t seem to be anywhere in which the phone could slide, right? play stationLooking at the market today, Nintendo and Sony are competitors in the gaming industry. Both companies have home consoles, both companies also create handheld consoles, and both companies develop their own games. However it seems that back in the day, both Nintendo and Sony were allies.

In fact it seems that at one point in time, both companies had teamed up in the late 1980s to create a console called the “Play Station”, although due to licensing agreements the project was ultimately abandoned by Nintendo which led to Sony creating their own console, the PlayStation. Now there were several prototypes of this console made and it looks like user analogueboy on Reddit managed to get his hands on one of them. nintendo mobileSome developers of games choose to make their games for a specific audience. For example some mobile developers choose to design games that are fun and simple so that players can get into the game anytime and anywhere without having to go through a build-up. Some developers choose to develop purely for kids, while some choose to create games for more hardcore gamers.

However as far as Nintendo is concerned, they have no plans of creating games for niche audiences. In a recent Q&A with investors, Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata was quoted as saying that he wanted to make games that would “appeal to anyone regardless of their gaming experiences and gender, and most importantly, regardless of different cultures, nationalities and languages.” Read full post →Nintendo Wants Their Smartphone Games To Appeal To Everyone
