Regardless of what smartphone platform you use, there will always be die-hard fans. Sometimes these fans are well-informed and really know their stuff, while others feel like they’re just there on the bandwagon because it’s the “in” thing. Recently the folks at Dit Is Normaal decided to put Apple’s fans to the test.
They basically took a fake iPhone 6 (there are plenty of those floating around) which came with Android installed on it. They then took to the streets and asked Apple fans what they thought about the upcoming iOS 9, which was actually Android running on the phone. Considering how popular the OnePlus One was, it isn’t surprising that the OnePlus 2 with its decent specs and affordable price tag would be just as popular, if not more. In fact recently in China, 30,000 units of the handset were sold in a little over a minute. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, we have to rely on an invitation reservation system.
Basically this means we have to wait for an invite to purchase the phone which is a somewhat ingenious albeit novel way of managing inventory. However with the list sitting over a million, safe to say some weren’t too happy and figured out a way to hack the system.
