malwarealertThere is a good reason why companies such as Google and Apple do not want you to download apps from unauthorized third-party app stores. Now if you’re looking for one less reason to jailbreak your iOS device, here’s one. It seems that researchers from Palo Alto Networks and China-based researchers WeipTech have discovered that the KeyRaider iOS malware has been responsible for compromising as many as 225,000 Apple accounts. If you try to use your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch to guide yourself around, it will guide you through images and voice cues, telling you when and where to turn or to keep driving straight, and so on. However Yale engineer Adam Spiers decided that maybe this could be improved upon and has since created the Animotus.

This is a 3D printed cube that will be able to shapeshift in order to direct its user where to go. For example the top part can spin in any direction, so if you have to turn left, it will turn left, if you need to turn right, the cube will spin right. However if you need to keep going straight, the top part of the cube will actually move forward on top of its base to let you know to keep going ahead. vtt sleep sensorWant to track the quality of your sleep? At the moment there are apps and wearables that can do that for you, but those usually base it on how often you toss and turn in your sleep, which in turn determines whether or not you are in a REM cycle. However a Finnish company by the name of VTT has developed a gas sensor that can be attached to your smartphone.

So how will a gas sensor help with your sleep quality? Basically the idea is to try and measure if there are any substances in the air that might be affecting your sleep, like measuring the levels of carbon dioxide in your room. According to Anna Rissanen, leader of the VTT research team, “Many day-to-day issues, such as precision and efficiency in the workplace, can depend on carbon dioxide levels and internal air quality.” Read full post →Scientists Create Gas Sensor To Help Track Your Sleep
