While the stock Internet browser on Android-powered devices function well enough on their own, there are still other alternatives out there from third party developers, and the Dolphin Browser from MoboTap is one of them. Having said that, MoboTap has just redesigned their Dolphin Browser for Android smartphones and tablets, where they have decided to throw in all-new Web app store as well as introduce a more streamlined navigation experience overall.

The new ‘Web Store’ can be said to be the most significant addition among the lot, where it comes with support for its fair share of high-profile apps and services, where among them include Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia and Amazon. Needless to say, this could be interpreted as a move to ensure users remain within the browser environment so that they do not turn to native Android apps, allowing them to access Web apps from the Dolphin home screen or a new tab, while sorting them into conventional folders as and when required. Huawei announced that much awaited Ascend P6 smartphone yesterday in London. Already the Ascend P6 pre-order has gone live in UK and Finland. It currently has the title of being the world’s slimmest smartphone, measuring just 6.18mm thick. Carphone Warehouse in UK will be shipping Ascend P6 starting July 4th, Elisa in Finland has slated the release in mid-July.

The sim-free Ascend P6 has been priced at £329.95, though some five carriers will be offering it on contract as well. The smartphone is free with a two year contract coupled with various monthly plans. Finland’s Elisa is offering Huawei’s latest flagship for €359, they’ve not yet given an exact release date. It is not yet know when the smartphone will be released Stateside, and if any of the carriers here will be offering it. Huawei releases the Ascend P6 first in China later this month. The smartphone has 4.7 inch 720p in-cell LCD display, 1.5GHz quadcore processor, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera and Android 4.2.2. It also has an “industry leading” 5 megapixel front facing camera, which is undoubtedly going to turn out some amazing selfies.

We all know that the biggest Internet search giant in the world, Google, is cash rich, and many of the top management executives are millionaires in their own right due to the amount of stock that they hold (needless to say, their founders are billionaires and have been for quite some time already), and so they can be “forgiven” if the company seems to spend cash in a frivolous manner from time to time. Their latest purchase would be forking out $40 million for a robot that can learn human dance moves, and the Hubo Two, as it is called, will rely on motion-capture cameras which can track a human dancer’s movements before trying to replicate those dance moves.

The Hubo two is a highly flexible robot, as it comes with arms that are more than flexible to perform the famous lasso-swinging move in Psy’s Gangnam Style hit. With two robots purchased, the folks over at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (whose researchers came up with such robots) are now $80 million better off. It would be pretty ironic to see the Hubo Two emulate a robot dance performed by a human, don’t you think so?

LG has certainly been making waves in the news recently, and their Social Tree installation in Singapore’s Changi Airport is a prime example in bringing technology to the masses in a different and modern way. Well, it seems that they are on the verge of yet another big thing in the industry with word that the South Korean consumer electronics giant is about to mass produce flexible displays for the smartphone industry sometime in the final quarter of this year at best, or perhaps in the first half of 2014.

According to the folks over at Korea Times who did have a chat with a bunch of LG Display executives, they managed to share this with Korea Times, “LG Display has completed the development of our first flexible displays. We’ve already shipped samples to clients including LG Electronics. LG Display will mass produce flexible displays from the fourth quarter of this year,” It remains to be seen, however, whether LG will be able to hold a big share in this potentially lucrative market as their bitter rival, Samsung, is also said to ship flexible displays of their own this year as well.

Earlier this morning, we brought you word that a pair of Power Shorts from Vodafone is able to make clever use of kinetic energy in order to power your smartphone – this is an almost idealistic way of thinking, and I suppose those who tend to be heavily involved in physical activities such as running, climbing, cycling, or even house chores would benefit the most from the Power Shorts. Well, what happens to the less active minded among us? Fret not, you can still get a charge for your smartphone while you sleep with Vodafone’s high tech sleeping bag which was developed in conjunction with Vodafone and scientists from the University of Southampton.

This unique sleeping bag is called the Power Pockets, where it will rely on thermoelectric power generators to convert some of your body heat into energy for your power hungry devices. According to the folks over at Vodafone, spending eight hours in the bag ought to provide enough juice to keep your handset going for another 11 hours in standby mode, in addition to approximately 24 minutes of talk time.

Only a couple of days ago we reported that Samsung may be shipping a faster Galaxy S4 soon, the device will reportedly be able to transmits data nearly twice the speed of the original Samsung Galaxy S4, since its said to support LTE Advanced or LTE-A. Though if a Japanese blog is to be believed, which has apparently got its hands on a user manual for this faster Galaxy S4, data is not the only thing that’s going to be fast on the revamped S4. The user manual “confirms” that faster Galaxy S4 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

This device reportedly carries the SHV-E330 model number and have a MSM8974 CPU, thought to be one of the first Snapdragon 800 SoC to be debuted in a smartphone this year. While a beefy processor is definitely required for LTE-A, it would also increase the overall performance on the device, as compared to the Galaxy S4′s current Snapdragon 600 processor. Fact remains though, LTE-A networks aren’t exactly common around the globe. Yota has a few installations in Moscow which are capable of providing speeds of up to 300Mbps.

Nokia is expected to unveil the new EOS smartphone at its event on July 11th. Over the past couple of months there have been a plethora of rumors about this device. Recently we saw the smartphone’s aluminium shell pictures, while in the past we’ve seen its polycarbonate shell being pictured as well. Today a picture of Nokia EOS white polycarbonate shell has been posted online, though this particular one looks to be a bit thinner than all of the other alleged shells that we have seen up till now.

It is believed that the aluminum shell touting devices are actually going to be the Nokia EOS phablets that we have been hearing about, though there’s obviously no confirmation of that. The polycarbonate shells have been seen in different colors, which isn’t surprising, since Nokia is known to offer its devices in a variety of colors. We’ve seen a video of Nokia’s EOS smartphone being leaked as well, the device is expected to be similar to Lumia 920 from the front. Its major feature is undoubtedly going to be the rumored 41 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, Xenon flash and a LED focus light. Official announcement of the Nokia EOS is expected next month.

As Feedly manages to touch the 12 million user mark, it decided to launch its very own Web version and ditch its reliance on Google Reader’s backend, in addition to a bunch of other new apps. Of course, this does not come across as a surprise, especially when you consider the kind of shock that rippled throughout the Internet when Google announced that their Google Reader service will be discontinued this coming July 1st.

RSS reader Feedly certainly wants to do their part to ensure that there is a sense of continuity for those of us who rely on RSS readers to get our job done. To touch the dozen million mark is quite an achievement, especially when you consider that in March alone, Feedly had a mere 4 million. The Web-only version of Feedly, being one of the top user-requested features, is now available so that a slew of other browsers will be able to access the service without having to install a specific app beforehand.

It was at the end of last week when we brought you word that the Sony NEX-7 successor could very well see a delay because of manufacturing issues, with no exact date in sight just yet. All is good and well now that the folks over at SonyAlphaRumors have shared that the very same Sony NEX-7 successor should be shipping out to the masses when the middle of October 2013 rolls around. No hardware specifications have been confirmed just yet, but chances are it will come with the 85mm f/1.4 lens. There are also whispers that a high quality zoom lens is also well on its way in time for the October release, and something on the sidelines, we could very well be looking at a Sony NEX-5 successor to boot – in addition to a bevy of other lenses to go along with it.

Boost Mobile announced today that it will be offering the LG Optimus F7 smartphone to its customers from June 27th for $299. Dubbed as a “premium” Android smartphone that’s capable of running on Sprint’s 3G and 4G LTE data networks, the LG Optimus F7 will be available from Boost Mobile for the aforementioned price, without any contractual obligations. While the LG Optimus F7 might not be that much of an Android powerhouse the press release makes it out to be, its certainly an impressive mid-range device.

The LG Optimus F7 has a 1.5GHz dualcore Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, dual mode 3G/4G LTe, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS, Instant Alert and an LED Home Button. It has a 8 megapixel rear facing camera and a 1.3 megapixel one up front. Its powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The smartphone also comes with QSlide 2.0, which allows users to overlay up to two app windows over an existing open application. Size and transparency can be adjusted, thus providing users with greater multitasking functionality. The battery provides enough power for the 4.7 inch True HD IPS display, while promising up to 17 hours of talk time.
