verizon signWhen we receive our phone bills every month, perhaps we are looking at a bill to the tune of maybe under $100, or more if you have a family or business to run. However it isn’t very often that we see bills for a whopping $42,427.21 which is what a woman in Connecticut received from Verizon, and no it was not a mistake.

Usually bills this high is indicative of a mistake in the system, but in this case all the charges are accounted for. Basically the woman had allowed her friend to use her number, but the deal is that her friend had to pay the bills every month. The FCC also announced that they would be aggressively going after other establishments who pull such stunts. Now Marriott has since changed their mind about blocking the personal WiFi hotspots of their guests, but if you recall, they did file a request at the FCC for permission to do so.

Now it looks like Marriott has decided to pull the plug on that too. It has the ability to remind you of things like upcoming flights, track packages, show you information it thinks you might be interested in based on previous searches, currency exchange rates and foreign language phrases while you’re overseas, and more.

However if there is one thing that it lacks, it is that it is missing support from third-party apps. Now as useful as the contextual information might be, we’re sure many would think it’s a lot more useful if third-party app information could be consolidated there too, right? Well, vehicles have also gotten “smarter” thanks to the kind of algorithms and systems that they have, and in the case of Tesla, a firmware update – changes in code, essentially, has resulted in a performance boost, now how about that? If one were to look at the flipside, such code could have flaws – and in the case of BMW, a security flaw did exist that made 22 million of its vehicles a potential candidate for break-ins.

india-uberUber and court cases do seem to get acquainted with one another rather often – and in the latest incident, an Indian woman claimed that she was raped by a driver of Uber over in Delhi, and has decided to file a lawsuit against the service all the way in a US court. The 26-year old alleged victim claimed that Uber was negligent in their duty to ensure passengers’ safety, and is currently looking for unspecified damages.

In fact, the music mogul did release his Magna Carta Holy Grail album to a million Galaxy device owners. Having said that, it seems that Jay Z, rich as he is, will be snapping up Tidal, a high-quality music streaming service that was previously owned by a Norwegian company. The entire bid stood at approximately $56 million after conversion, and the company’s reviewing board has recommended that all of its shareholders ought to pick up Jay Z’s offer.

Of course, the traditional description of a theft, which involves taking something that does not belong to you in the corporeal world, still applies. In fact, there was this bunch of thieves over at a Walmart-owned ASDA supermarket in Cheshire, England, who cleverly evaded security after they successfully managed to pack in the DVDs that they would like to watch later on into envelopes. Rather than walking out of the store with these stolen goods in hand, the thieves then sent the packages to themselves – all the while making use of the in-store Post Office.

Tesla’s Model X, the SUV that has seen its fair share of delays, has been touted to enter production some time this year. In fact, the Tesla Model X SUV is also touted to be the first tow-capable electric car in the world, and I am quite sure that this will be far from its list of firsts in due time. Needless to say, do not expect this to be crystal clear, since this is a bootleg copy – so the person who recorded it obviously had plenty of intestinal fortitude to do so.
