amazon dashEarlier this year Amazon announced their Dash buttons which for a while had many believing it was an April Fools joke, but it later turned out to be true. For those unfamiliar with the Dash buttons, basically what it does is it allows users to place orders for specific products at a touch of a button.

That being said, the availability of these buttons were limited to Prime members first of all, but even then they were only available via invites, meaning that not everyone could have access to it even if you were a Prime member. However all of that has changed as Amazon has since announced that they are making the Dash buttons open to all Prime members now. Read full post →Amazon Dash Buttons Now Open To All Prime Members

dota 2 rebornA couple of months ago, Valve announced DotA 2: Reborn. This isn’t a sequel to DotA 2, but rather an update to the game’s engine along with the UI, updating its look and usability which should hopefully make it better. Valve then made the beta open to the public, but if you’re wondering about its official release, you might not have to wait much longer.

According to a post on the DotA 2 blog, Valve has revealed that in the coming weeks, they expect that they will roll out the DotA 2: Reborn patch. Earlier this year there were rumors that due to conflicts with Hideo Kojima and Konami, the producer was said to be leaving the company. This was later confirmed when box art removed mention of Kojima from them, and while Konami has never explicitly said that Kojima was leaving, we’re sad to say that it has pretty much been made official.

Konami has recently released a video (see above) in which the game’s long-time director/producer Kojima bids farewell to the series. This is particularly touching because for those unfamiliar, the Metal Gear Solid series has been running for close to three decades now, meaning that there have been plenty of fans who will no doubt be affected by his departure. polaroid_snapBack in the day before digital cameras became so widely adopted, Polaroid cameras were a pretty huge deal due to their ability to print photos on the fly. This is versus more traditional film cameras where you’d either have to develop it yourself, or take it to the shop where you’d have to wait a few days for them to be developed and printed.

Fast forward to today, such cameras are no longer needed, but they are still a novelty and if you’re after something similar, you’re in luck thanks to a camera called the Snap. This isn’t a Polaroid made camera, but rather a licensed one and it does share similar features and looks. Instead the Snap is a 10MP camera that features a built-in printer. bpay jacketAs some of you guys might have heard, over in the UK Barclays has their own form of mobile and contactless payment called bPay. How it works is pretty similar to how most contactless payments work where you just need to wave your device over the payment terminal and it will charge you, just as easy as that.

Now previously the company launched variants of bPay in the form of a keychain, a wristband, or a sticker that can be attached to the back of your phone. However recently the company has taken things one step further by embedding bPay technology into an actual jacket that they developed with Scottish knitwear brand Lyle & Scott. paypal-meLet’s say you’re out with your friends and you want to pay for dinner using your credit card, and everyone will just pay you back. There are many ways to go about this, one of which is to get friends to give you actual cash. Another way is to do a bank transfer, or in PayPal’s case, they have decided to launch PayPal.me that will supposedly make it even easier.

So what so different about PayPal.me compared to the regular PayPal? Apparently the idea behind it is to go back to PayPal’s roots where they were a service that allowed users to send money to each other easily, as opposed to acting like a “bank”, which some feel that way about the service today.
