Looking for a super slim digital camera to make you feel like James Bond? Well, the Winait CD130BT might be just what you’re looking for. Measuring in at just 13.5mm thick (or thin?), the camera sports some rather average specs, but you’ll probably be able to overlook than due to its ultra-slim design. For $24.99, you’ll pick up an ultra-slim camera that takes 640x480 resolution pictures, and saves them onto its 64MB of on board memory. Of course, considering how common cameras are on mobile phones nowadays, you probably already have a better alternative, albeit not in such a slim design.

We’ve already seen many different cradles for Apple’s iPhone, but you have to admit that the Spiderpodium does seem to stand out from the others, not least because it has eight bendable spider-like legs. You’ll be able to bend the legs to hold up your iPhone on various surfaces, probably even the handlebars of your bike, not that we’re advocating you fiddle with your iPhone while riding it. The Spiderpodium is currently up for preorder for £14.99 ($23 USD) and it will be available on March 29th.

Ever wanted to take your stereo down with you to the beach, but didn’t want it to get spoilt due to water damage? Well, check out the Beach Stereo, created by Adam. The cooler is obviously already water tight, and holes have been cut in the front and back for speakers, not to mention a water-tight bezel and cover for the controls on the deck. The unit is powered by a battery inside, allowing you to share your favorite tunes even at locations where there isn’t any electricity, and has bad weather conditions. Not too shabby eh? Certainly looks like something you could build on your own too.

Here’s something rather interesting regarding Apple’s iPad. Normally if your iPhone’s battery dies and needs a replacement, Apple will service the device for a fee, meaning it will probably just swap in a new battery for you. But according to the latest FAQ page from Apple regarding the iPad, it seems that it’s offering to replace your iPad for a service fee ($99) in the event that your iPad battery decides to kick the bucket. It’s hard to tell if this is a typo or a serious deal, but there are certainly pros and cons to your iPad being replaced for $99, not to mention you’ll almost certainly be getting a refurbished unit. If your iPad battery died, and you had to pay $99, would you rather Apple changed the battery, letting you keep your sentimental iPad, or would you be happier with a “new” refurbished unit?

Some additional information regarding the recently leaked BlackBerry slider phone has emerged, and according to the latest leak, the device actually failed the early diagnostic testing 4 out of 5 times, which certainly doesn’t sound good. If the leak/rumor is good, the BlackBerry slider could possibly be heading for Sprint, as the device spotted bore a Sprint logo. Aside from that, a GSM/HSPA version of the device dubbed the BlackBerry 9900 and BlackBerry 9930 are mentioned which will support AT&T and Rogers’ 3G networks using the 850/1900MHz UMTS bands. Do bear in mind that there isn’t any official indication of this phone just yet, but we’ll keep monitoring the situation, so check back often!

All the coolest gadgets in the market probably have a common problem – battery life. With plenty of external batteries being created to sustain your iPhone when used in an extended trip, it’s obvious that battery technology is lagging behind. If the new lithium-sulfur technology developed by the folks at Stanford becomes mature, we might just have a solution to our battery woes. This new technology is apparently safer, and more importantly (actually safety is probably more important); it currently achieves 80 percent more capacity than lithium-ion batteries. The downside is that it’s still far from becoming a mass market product, as the charge cycles of just 40-50 times compared to the 300-500 times of lithium-ion batteries aren’t anything to shout about. Hopefully they manage to tweak it and we’ll see a significant boost in battery life in all our devices sooner rather than later.

By now you’ve probably heard of Google’s spat with the Chinese government, especially the bit where Google threatened to pull out of China. According to the latest rumblings on the Internet, Google is preparing to close Google.cn. Aside from that, the search engine giant is unwilling to hand over management of Google.cn to a local entity. Despite that, other Chinese operations owned by Google will continue to go on, including a research centre in Beijing and a sales team that sells advertising on the Chinese-language Google.com search service (based outside of China) to advertisers inside the country. It’s always hard to confirm whether leaked pictures are authentic or not, but assuming this latest leaked picture of the Nokia C6 is authentic, it looks like the phone will be something like a Nokia Nuron that decided to grow a sideways-sliding keyboard. Do you think that this is what the Nokia C6 will eventually look like, or is it just a clever Photoshop job? Rumors are going around that the C6 is slated to be released in Europe this summer, so if you’re decided on this phone, you’d better start saving those pennies right now.

While these figures are far from official figures by Apple, it’s still very interesting to take a peek at what some people have analyzed over the latest Apple iPad pre-orders. It seems that, based on the order numbers from purchases, and taking into account the 15,000 online orders that come in a typical day, the fruity company has managed to snag about 91,000 iPad pre-orders in just six hours, which is certainly an amazing feat. It still remains to see how successful Apple’s iPad will be in the long run, but if the pre-order numbers are anything to go by, Apple certainly has something good on its hands.

If you’re wondering whether being a Palm Developer has any perks, it seems that there are. Palm is currently offering a 20% discount and free 2-day shipping on it devices to Palm Developers. The bad news is that while the phones are contract-free, they’re carrier-locked to Verizon and Sprint, which probably doesn’t seem too smart on Palm’s part, especially when you take into account that the Palm Pre costs $439 on Palm’s website. Would this deal actually make you buy one of these devices from Palm, or would you rather just accept a carrier’s contract and get the same phone for a cheaper price?

With Google offering free turn-by-turn navigation for Android devices, and Nokia following suit with its Ovi Maps, it was only a matter of time before all these free navigation services claimed a victim, and it seems that the first victim to buckle under the pressure is Vodafone’s Wayfinder. This news comes just 16 months after Vodafone spent a hefty $30 million to purchase Wayfinder. While many might have thought that paid navigation services would be the next big thing, it seems that free navigation services have trumped that. With the announcement of Google’s free navigation service doing terrible things for TomTom and Garmin’s share prices, who do you think might be (or will be) the next victim to free navigation services?

Can’t think of an interesting project to kill your weekend with? Well, the guys from SignalToNoise came up with a rather interesting project, the Analogue Tape Glove. Basically it’s a mash of a couple of old tape decks, an amplifier, some glue, and a nearby wall. When it’s all set in place, you’ll be able to play the music that’s on the old magnetic tapes by dragging the fingertips of the modified glove across the surface of the tape. Of course, the sounds will vary and it’ll probably sound just strange, but then again, it’s a strange concept to begin with. You might already have caught wind of the ODROID when we mentioned it some time ago, but in case you missed it, this device by Hardkernel is described as an entertainment device with a focus on gaming.
