nintendo logoThere are different types of gamers – there are those who play games as a means to pass time or when they have a little bit of spare time, then there are those who play games all day either competitively or professionally. Now for the most part, Nintendo has catered to casual gamers and if you’ve ever played Nintendo games, you’ll know to be true.

However it seems that Nintendo could be shifting their focus from the casual gamer to the core gamer, or at least that’s what Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto seems to be hinting at. According to an interview with Miyamoto in the latest issue of Edge, Miyamoto seemed to be saying that Nintendo could be shifting their focus onto core gamers. Thanks to what appeared to a little gaffe by Sony on their website, the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact could been hinted at. Well we guess Sony is about to announce it anyway so it’s not that big of a deal. That being said, Sony has since released a new teaser video which seems to allude to not just the Xperia Tablet Z3 Compact, but it looks like a couple of new handsets as well.

As you can see in the video above, it shows off the silhouette of three devices – a tablet and two smartphones. One of the phones appears to be larger than the other and based on previous rumors and speculation, we can only imagine that one of the phones is the Sony Xperia Z3 and the other would be the Xperia Z3 Compact. m7Come 4th of September, we expect Huawei to take the wraps of a new phone. According to the invite the company sent, they certainly have something planned for that day and there is a good chance that what they are unveiling could be the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. Now we have seen several leaked photos in the past, but thanks to new leaks, we get to look at the rear of the phone and its front.

One of the features of the upcoming Ascend Mate 7 is its thin bezels, which as you can see in the image above are indeed pretty darn thin! This gives the illusion that the phone’s display is really larger than what it is, although with a whopping 6.1-inch display, we doubt anyone would think that it is a small phone. nuclear smithPolice and video games, where have we heard that before? Well it looks like game developer Henry Smith could have had a close encounter with the police, except that in his case it would seem that the police exercised a bit of discretion instead of barging into his home and kicking down his door.

What happened is that as a developer, Smith drew plans for a game called Global Thermonuclear War which basically uses Google Maps to simulate what a nuclear war could look like between nations. On a whiteboard in his home, Smith had hand drawn a crude sketch of the word along with some lines to simulate nuclear missiles being fired from one country to another. Sony mentions Xperia Z3 Tablet CompactSo we have been hearing rumors that Sony could be getting ready to launch the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, and recently it seems that Sony could have accidentally confirmed the existence of the tablet. The page has since been edited and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact name has been replaced with the Xperia Z2 Tablet. gear circleIt seems that Samsung was pretty busy yesterday because not only did they officially unveiled a new smartwatch in the form of the Samsung Gear S, but they also took the wraps off a new pair of headphones that they have dubbed the Samsung Gear Circle. While the headphones themselves might look pretty normal, it does come with a nifty feature that some of you guys might appreciate.

Thanks to a built-in magnetic clasp, the headphones can be joined together at the edges and be worn as a necklace around your neck. We suppose on one hand you could always try and accessorize your outfit with it, but we reckon it’s more for convenience where instead of stuffing the headphones in your pocket or bag, or have them dangling, clasping them around your neck seems like a much neater solution. Earlier this month it was revealed that 2K Games would finally be bringing the BioShock universe to iOS devices. Well the good news for BioShock fans who are looking to relive their BioShock moments on their iPhone or iPad is that the game has been officially released and is available for download via the iTunes App Store.

Unfortunately if you were hoping that the game would be priced like a mobile game, think again. The developers have slapped a somewhat hefty (hefty as far as mobile games are concerned) price tag of $14.99 on it. Also due to the somewhat graphically intensive nature of the game, it will not be compatible on older devices like the iPhone 4S or below, third-gen iPad or below, first-generation iPad mini and the iPod touch.
