Hurricane season is upon us and in an effort to help keep its users informed, Google has announced some changes that they will be making to its search results. Basically if you’re going to be searching for news about hurricanes or tornados, Google’s search results will now display maps showing you where these hurricanes or tornados are.
This includes showing you a map of where your location is in relation to the oncoming storm, visualizations of its forecasted track, wind speed, arrival time, courtesy of NOAA, and it will also provide users with instructions on how to prepare and stay safe, all of which will be based on the intensity of the storm and its arrival time relative to where you are. If the IDC’s recent figures are right, Apple is apparently the world’s second largest wearable maker, and it seems that their efforts with the Apple Watch are paying off. According to a report from Reuters, it seems like Apple along with Boeing and Harvard, just to name a few, will be working with the Pentagon in developing wearables.
These wearables appear to be mainly focusing on flexibility because apart from being worn by people, the idea is that these wearables could potentially be molded where they can be equipped on the outside of jets or even ships, wearables that can be worn by soldiers or used to monitor structural integrity.
