That being said, Apple has been working on improving Apple Maps for a while now and has recently launched a web portal called “Maps Connect”. Basically this web portal allows local businesses to provide information to Apple to help make Apple Maps more accurate. This allows businesses to list themselves on the map with more precise locations. Read full post →Maps Connect Web Portal Helps To Make Apple Maps More Accurate

oppo teaser camera blowout 640x640The Oppo N3 is scheduled for a launch in Singapore come 29th of October, but in the meantime to help keep customers interested, Oppo has teased a steady stream of photos and information regarding the device. More recently, Oppo has posted a new teaser photo on their Facebook page which you can see in the image above.

Basically it shows the blown-out view of the camera module that is expected to make its way into the handset. While it’s a bit hard to tell, it does not seem like the Oppo N3 could feature a rotating camera like in the Oppo N1, but perhaps the official reveal will confirm that. However for now, it does give us a good look at the complexity of the camera module which Oppo will be using. Read full post →Oppo N3 Teased Again On Facebook, Shows Off Fingerprint Scanner

Most smartwatches these days tend to have relatively short battery life. This is due to their displays which are usually quite bright and stunning, which unfortunately at the same time also drains its batteries pretty fast. While not as pretty, devices like the Pebble smartwatch offer an alternative due to its e-ink display that offers slightly longer battery life.

Well if you’re looking for an e-ink smartwatch, you might be interested to learn that Onyx is working on a smartwatch of their own that will use an e-ink display as well. The device will feature a 1.56-inch e-ink display that will reportedly only draw power when the screen is refreshed, which means that its display can always remain on without drawing too much power at the same time. iPad air review 5 640x426Apple isn’t really a company that waxes on about numbers, like clock speeds, number of cores, megapixels, and so on. For example with the iPad Air 2, Apple announced that the tablet would be powered by an A8X chipset which presumably is based on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus’ A8 chipset.

While it does share a name, it turns out that the A8X is different from the A8 in terms of the number of cores. The A8 is a dual-core chipset but according to a tweet by Primate Labs, it seems that the A8X is a triple-core chipset, which we have to admit is pretty odd. These days we are either looking at dual, quad, or octa for the most part. Read full post →iPad Air 2′s A8X Chip Found To Be Of The Triple-Core Variety

google logo 2011 10 25We’re sure at one point or the other, we’ve tried to look for songs, books, movies, and more for download illegally via Google. According to Google, “We’ve now refined the signal in ways we expect to visibly affect the rankings of some of the most notorious sites. This update will roll out globally starting next week.” Read full post →Google To Roll Out Improved Anti-Piracy Search Algorithm

Thanks to calculators, solving mathematical equations both complicated and simple is a piece of cake. However sometimes solving equations can take a while as you might have to enter long equations and their symbols into the calculator, and mistyping a symbol or missing a bracket could result in the wrong answer.

Well that’s what apps such as PhotoMath are for. The app has been designed to allow users to solve mathematical equations by pointing their phone’s camera at the equation and the app will solve it for you. In fact the app will also be able to break down the steps it took to solve the equation if you’re interested in the process rather than the answer. homeboy 640x426There are probably many different types of home security cameras available in the market today, but if you’re looking for an alternative, perhaps the Homeboy could be worth checking out. Designed by Mark Richards who was frustrated after having his home burglarized for the third time, the Homeboy is a tiny home surveillance camera that mounts on the wall or ceiling via magnets.

In a way this allows users to pretty much place the camera wherever they want and can shift it around as needed. All they’d need to do is install the base on the wall or ceiling or wherever they want, and they can easily mount/dismount the device as needed. The Homeboy also comes with a battery life of three months so you won’t have to worry about it running out of juice anytime soon. retina imac macpro 64bit october 2014 singlecore 640x452Apple’s Mac Pro has been designed for power-users in mind where those users might have the need for high-end components and powerful hardware to edit videos, music, photos, or run applications that might require a lot of processing/graphics power. As for the iMac, these desktop systems have mainly been designed for regular users, but recent benchmark sightings have suggested that power-users might be interested in the new Retina iMacs.

As noted by John Poole of Primate Labs, it seems that the 27-inch Retina iMac with an Intel Core i7-4790K clocked at 4.0GHz has managed to outperform the low-end Mac Pro with an Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2 clocked at 3.7GHz. However it should be pointed out that this is only for single-core performance and that for multi-core performance, the Mac Pros for the most part have trumped the iMac. Remember earlier this year we saw a video of an alleged hoverboard in action? We were a bit skeptical of its legitimacy at first and our doubts were proven true when it turned out to be a hoax. That being said, another hoverboard called the Hendo by Greg and Jill Henderson, has appeared and is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, but this time it looks like it is the real deal.

Now before you get too excited at the idea of zipping down the streets on it like Marty McFly of Back to the Future fame, there are some caveats regarding the device. This is based on the accounts from, publications such as the New York Times and The Verge who actually managed to ride the device. Read full post →The Hoverboard Is Finally Here, Sort Of
