A couple of days ago we reported that according to an AT&T rep on the forums, she confirmed that the carrier would be rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 update this week. Well the good news is that if you were looking forward to the update is that yes, the rep was right on the money (in case you were a bit skeptical, we know we were), and AT&T is indeed rolling out the update this week.
However the bad news is that the update is only for the Nokia Lumia 1520, at least for now, so if you’re using a different handset, you’re out of luck temporarily. It should also be pointed out that the update will not work if you’re using the Developer Preview of Windows Phone 8.1, so if you are, you might want to roll it back to Windows Phone 8 in order to get the update working on your handset. A couple of months ago, it was reported that Google owned YouTube was thinking about acquiring Twitch. Considering that both YouTube and Twitch are video-related, it sort of makes sense. Well according to a report from VentureBeat, it seems that the deal has been confirmed, at least according to their sources who are familiar with the matter.
Both Google and Twitch have declined to comment on it, but VentureBeat did point out that both companies are slated to appear at their GamesBeat event in September, so perhaps we will learn more then, although it does seem to be a pretty long wait.
