Google-AMP-newsRight now Facebook has an instant articles feature in which the content from publishers has sort of been preloaded. This means that when you click it, the content loads instantly in Facebook as opposed to having to wait for a website to load. Google announced a similar venture last month with Accelerated Mobile Pages, and it looks like we have a launch date to look forward to.

According to a post by Google, it seems that they are aiming to launch the project in early 2016. There is no specific date mentioned but they did say early, so hopefully we can look forward to a release in Q1 2016 at least. According to Google, “Google will begin sending traffic to your AMP pages in Google Search early next year, and we plan to share more concrete specifics on timing very soon.” Read full post →Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages Will Launch Early 2016

electronic-cigaretteThere is a lot of debate regarding the safety of electronic cigarettes (e-cigs). The question here lies in both the content of the juice and also the electronics involved, and every now and then you hear about an accident that further seems to enforce the idea that e-cigs are considered to be dangerous.

Now it seems that one incident was bad enough to the point where an exploding e-cig may cause a 29-year old college student from Colorado Springs to never walk again. According to the reports, the 29-year old had his e-cig explode in his face. Apparently the resulting blast was enough to fracture his vertebrae, cause facial fractures, and teeth damage. faceshiftA couple of months ago it was reported that Apple had apparently acquired facial motion capture technology firm FaceShift. The Cupertino company did not confirm it back then and this was based on the fact that FaceShift’s employees no longer listed the company as their place of work, and the board of directors had also been replaced by a company that used to work for Apple.

For those curious about what Apple might have planned for the company, it looks like the rumors have been confirmed. According to a boilerplate statement given by Apple to TechCrunch, “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.” Read full post →Apple’s Acquisition Of FaceShift Has Been Confirmed

Apple Watch brændte min armThe Apple Watch is designed to be worn for extended periods of time on the wrist, which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that in the past, some users have complained of getting rashes. However it seems that over in Denmark, a man by the name of Jørgen Mouritzen claims that the Apple Watch has burnt his wrist and pretty severely at that.

According to the report from Ekstra Bladet, Mouritzen claimed that he had entered his aviation club’s bathroom on the 17th of October when he felt a burning sensation followed by pain shooting up his left wrist along with the smell of burning flesh. Mouritzen claims that the heat source came from the Apple Watch and apparently it was so hot that his right hand suffered minor burns trying to remove it. audio technica ADG1x

When it comes to gaming headphones, gamers are probably more familiar with brands like Turtle Beach, Razer, and Steelseries just to name a few. However it was a couple of years ago that headphone maker Audio Technica got into the gaming headset scene and it looks like they are back with two new models.

These models come in the form of the ADG1x and the AG1x. As cool as headsets like Google Glass would be for everyday use by regular folks, it seems that they might have more use in the industrial side. It was reported that earlier this year that despite Google deciding to discontinue Glass, it still has found a surge in use amongst industrial workers where factory workers for Boeing, Daimler, and UPS found a use for them. hoverboardLast week we reported that in NYC, the state had declared that “hoverboards” were considered illegal and that anyone caught riding them would be subject to a fine. It looks like it didn’t take long for that decision to catch on overseas because now according to reports, it looks like these devices are banned in NSW, Australia.

This was confirmed by roads minister Duncan Gay, “Hoverboards are the hot ticket item on many Christmas wishlists, but we need shoppers to keep safety front of mind before they put their money down. I don’t want to be the Christmas Grinch, but I want people to know and send a message that these new toys have real safety concerns.” Read full post →“Hoverboards” Also Banned In NSW, Australia

I had a close encounter with the Sony XDCam PXW-FS5 at InterBee 2015. Unveiled in September with prototypes, this Super35 camcorder can shoot in 4K in excellent quality and low-noise, thanks to its very good noise-reduction algorithms. The lenses are interchangeable, so you can adapt its use to many different situations. Read full post →Sony XDCam PXW-FS5 4K Camcorder
