Some of us like to hold off our game purchases until the publisher themselves roll out something that is extra special as part of an enticement. Take for instance, the collection of Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 titles, where if you waited long enough and played the patience card to the full, you would have been able to get the main title along with all of the other expansion sets after a while. Hence, the same logic should apply somewhat where Grand Theft Auto V is concerned, especially with the announcement of the Grand Theft Auto V Special Edition and Collector’s Edition that are already available for pre-order from today onwards.

These two editions are part of a worldwide pre-order exercise at participating retailers, and in order to further sweeten the deal, folks who have decided to throw their lot behind either edition of the Grand Theft Auto V (including the Special Edition, Collector’s Edition or the standard retail edition) franchise between now and September 17th will be able to gain access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in-game vehicle, which should be enticement enough. Mailbox is a newly popular iPhone email client that has gained quite a substantial user base in the short time that it has become available for everyone. A testament to its popularity is the fact that Dropbox acquired it and vowed to keep it a separate entity, while calling it “simple, delightful and beautifully engineered.” We reported last month that Mailbox for iPad was being developed and the developers also revealed that the were considering making a Mac version. While we don’t know about that yet, Mailbox for iPad has finally gone live and is now available for download from iTunes App Store.

The new version 1.3 update makes Mailbox for iOS a universal app, meaning that it now brings native support for the iPad. There’s a caveat if you use an email service other than Gmail. For now, Mailbox can only work with Gmail accounts, so you’re out of luck if Google’s email is not your cup of tea. Nevertheless, Mailbox is available for download absolutely free. You might want to check it out and see for yourself what the buzz is all about.

Let’s just say that you are already a subscriber to the AT&T mobile carrier, and have been on the lookout for the Samsung Galaxy S4 for quite some time already, but never really managed to do anything about the situation simply because the two available colors for this flagship smartphone from Samsung did not really tickle your fancy. Seriously, Black Mist and White Frost? You are one who is always on the lookout for something new, so a somewhat eccentric Aurora Red does seem to be more right up your alley.

Good news then, as AT&T has just announced that an Aurora Red version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be made available over at the carrier as an exclusive device from June 14 onwards. That is still a good three weeks away, but you can ensure that you are right up there at the front of the line by placing a pre-order from tomorrow onwards. The good news is, you need not fork out anything extra from the regular colored Galaxy S4 models, since the Aurora Red version too, will arrive alongside a $199.99 price point.

It has been quite some time seen Sony Xperia S smartphone was released, it come out during the first few months of 2012. Back then it was running Android Gingerbread, though it is perfectly capable of running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well. Previous rumors had suggested that Sony would release Jelly Bean update for Xperia S towards the end of May, but there’s hasn’t been an official confirmation about that. Now, rumor has it that the update is coming tomorrow, as a new firmware update has apparently been listed on the official support page of the Sony Xperia S.

The build mentioned on Xperia S support page is 6.2.A.0.200 and is said to correspond to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. According to the image of this page, the release is has been listed as 2013-4=24, it is said to be a typo as the date listed is April 24th which has long passed without giving us a Jelly Bean update for Sony Xperia S. If this is indeed a typo, and previous rumors of the update coming out in end of May are true, then perhaps we might see the update being released tomorrow. [Image via Xperiablog]

Yesterday an update for Google Chrome was rolled out, which comes with the conversational search feature that was announced at I/O 2013. The feature changes how a user would normally query Google, instead of focusing on keywords  it focuses on phrases one would normally use when asking something from a human being. Google has also announced that it will soon be updating Chrome for iPhone and iPad with voice search. Users will be able to speak out their queries and view results in the omnibox, the results may be “in some cases spoken back.”

By simply touching the microphone and saying the query out loud, searching Google for information on anything at all will definitely be a lot easier, not to mention the fact that it will considerably save a lot of time as well. The update will also ensure that web pages reload faster, Chrome for iOS will now use the cache more effectively if the network connection is slow. Google says that this update will be out soon in the iTunes App Store, it has refrained from providing an exact release date.

Thanks to Microsoft’s Windows 8, we’re starting to see a fair number of hybrid devices being released into the market. For those wondering what we’re talking about, we’re talking about hybrid devices like laptops which have the ability to be transformed into a tablet with a touchscreen interface, albeit a rather big and heavy one. Thanks to the touch interface, interacting with your mobile computer has definitely changed, but is this a trend here to stay or is it merely a novel piece of technology that might fall by the wayside in the future? AMD’s director of mobility, Kevin Lensing, doesn’t seem to think so.

In fact Lensing seems to believe that “the notebook is gone” and that it is on the decline, and hybrid devices like the one we described earlier are here to stay. Lensing did note that not everything is rosy just yet as the form factors of some of these hybrid devices have yet to be perfected and that “the designs aren’t there yet”, and that companies are expected to make several mistakes along the way before discovering what works and what doesn’t. Wedding rings come in all shapes and sizes, from the more classic designs, to the more gamer-centric designs, but here’s a particular design which we’re sure will have both geeks and romantics gushing. As you can see in the image above, the light coming from the ring is not from glittering diamonds, nope, it’s actually coming from a couple of LED lights which has been embedded into it, and what makes it even cooler and romantic is the fact that the LED lights will only turn on when their hands are held by another person, e.g. the husband/wife.

Designed and made from scratch by Ben Kokes, he decided that he didn’t just want to give his wife any ordinary diamond ring, which is why he came up with this idea. The ring features a titanium band and sports several LED lights placed under its surface. A copper wire also runs in the ring and when exposed to the right alternating magnetic field, which Kokes wears under his jacket to conceal the device, will help power the LED lights and turn them on when the couples hold hands. It’s a pretty cool and romantic idea, and if you think you have the chops and resources to make something similar, Kokes has listed out the process on his website.

We’ve been hearing several reports that HTC could be in trouble, what with the HTC First reportedly being discontinued about a month since it was released, and earlier this year the HTC One faced some delays which caused it to launch later than it should, causing the company to give ground to some of their competitors. However for fans of the Taiwanese company, it seems that while the company might have not have achieved the same 10 million milestone mark that Samsung did with the Galaxy S4, they did not do too badly as it has been reported that about 5 million HTC One devices have been sold so far.

This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal who managed to get their hands on those figures from an unnamed HTC executive. According to the executive, “Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. When the issue is resolved next month, we will have a better idea if it’s doing really well or not.” If this is true, the HTC One appears to be doing pretty well for itself, but what do you guys think? It was just the other day that Microsoft took the wraps off the Xbox One, but fret not Xbox 360 gamers because Microsoft has not forgotten you! In an interview held with GameSpot, Microsoft Game Studios executive Phil Spencer revealed that the company will continue supporting the Xbox 360 for years to come, and that they even had a huge Xbox 360 announcement planned for E3 2013! Spencer seemed pretty excited about the announcement and said that it would be a huge surprise to everyone, although he did not mention what it was. He then followed up by making a reference to last year’s surprise which saw Minecraft brought onto the Xbox 360, suggesting that perhaps this huge announcement could be game-related, rather than hardware. Earlier today we reported on a leak which might have outed two HTC devices, the Desire 200 and Desire 600, and while the Desire 200 has yet to make its appearance, HTC has officially unveiled the Desire 600 Android handset. This is not going to be a powerhouse like the HTC One. Instead, the Desire 600 will be a mid-ranged device that will feature dual SIM slots, and will be the Taiwanese company’s first mid-ranged device to sport HTC’s new Sense 5 UI as well, which we guess for those who can’t be bothered flashing ROMs onto their phones, is good news.

The rest of the specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1.6MP front-facing camera and a 4.5” display. For those who enjoy listening to songs on their phone or watching videos, the Desire 600 also appears to sport front-facing speakers much like the HTC One, along with Beats Audio integration. No word on how much the HTC Desire 600 will cost, but it is expected to be made available in a number of markets come June 2013. [Press release]
