However could China be blocking access to Apple’s iCloud.com website? Well according to a report from Greatfire.org, the answer is yes.

It seems that when trying to access iCloud in China, some users are unknowingly interacting with a third-party website which is essentially a man-in-the-middle attack. Some have claimed that hackers are to thank for these attacks, while others also claim that the Chinese government might have had a hand in it as well. The company has been busy buying up a bunch of different companies and if you a report from TechCrunch is any accurate, it seems that Yahoo might have a new acquisition in the works. According to their report, Yahoo is said to be in talks with video ad platform BrightRoll about a possible acquisition.

The terms sheets have reportedly been signed and the deal is said to be worth anywhere between $500 million and $1 billion. The idea is to help Yahoo better compete against Google’s YouTube, especially since BrightRoll’s video ad platform works across different devices, like smartphones, the web, and connected TV devices. “There’s no place like home,” or at least that’s what Dorothy believed when she clicked her red heels together while being transported back to Kansas in the Wizard of Oz. Well it looks like fiction has been made a reality, thanks to a wearable created by iStrategyLabs which will fit into a shoe and can be activated simply by clicking our heels together.

Dubbed the rather aptly named Dorothy, it will see wearers install an Arduino Bluetooth device called “Ruby” to your shoe, and in order to activate it, well you’ll just have to click your heels three times. discover cardWhen it comes to supported credit cards for Apple Pay, MasterCard, Visa, and American Express are supported, but oddly enough Discover was not included in the list. If you’re the owner of a Discover card, fret not because it looks like support for Discover could be added to the list in the future.

This is according to a tweet by Discover who responded to a question asking about the lack of support on Apple Pay. According to Discover, they claim that they are currently in discussions with Apple on adding their cards to the supported list of cards by Apple Pay in the future. “We are in discussions with Apple to add Discover cards to Apple Pay in the future. So Apple released iOS 8.1 today and together with the update, they also released Apple Pay which can be used at a variety of retailers such as McDonald’s and Walgreens, just to name a few. Well Walgreens wants to show just how convenient and quick using Apple Pay is and they have released a video.

The video basically shows that it will take around 44 seconds for a customer who arrives at the cashier to enter their reward card details and make the payment using Apple Pay. We’re not sure if this faster/slower compared to paying by cash, or as a comment in the video has stated, it does not seem particularly faster than swiping your credit card. Well if you liked what you saw, you might be interested to learn that Bang & Olufsen have recently given the speakers a makeover, which will now be available in a black aluminum finish which we have to admit looks pretty awesome.

For those who might have missed the announcement last year, the BeoLab 17 speakers will feature a custom 6-inch mid-range driver, a 3/4-inch tweeter, two 160-watt amplifiers that will all be powered by the company’s digital sound engine.
