pizza hutIf you’ve ever placed an order for food delivery via an app, you will realize that there’s usually a section in the app that allows users to add comments. These comments could basically range from warning the delivery person of an aggressive dog, or to bring extra napkins, and so on. However one woman in Florida was smart enough to use the comments section to send a help message after being held hostage.

According to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office press release, the woman in question Cheryl Treadway had been arguing with her boyfriend who pretty much held her as a hostage while carrying a large knife. However “Ms. Treadway eventually convinced Mr. Nickerson to let her use the cell phone to order a pizza which is when she sent the message to Pizza Hut.” Read full post →Hostage Sends SOS Message Via Pizza Hut App

oculus riftThe Oculus Rift virtual reality headset was originally pegged for a release this year, or at least that was the intention of the developers. However a report from last month suggested that the device had been delayed and might not be launched in 2015 after all and would most likely see a release in 2016.

Turns out the report was right as the folks at Oculus have officially announced that the virtual reality headset would only begin shipping to customers in Q1 2016. We suppose this is actually rather good news as prior to this, we did not have an official release date, only speculation and rough estimates as to when the consumer version might be released. mortal kombat xPatches, generally speaking, are usually released with the intention of improving something, such as performance. They are also usually released to address problems in the software like bugs, glitches, errors, security holes, and whatnot, so when a patch is released that is meant to improve a game only to make things worse, we’ve got a problem on our hands.

Recently a patch for Mortal Kombat X for the PC was released and while its original intention was to bring the PC version to parity with the console version, it ended up being a rather buggy update and deleted saved versions of the game. In fact the patch was bad enough that the folks at NetherRealm had to pull it to prevent more gamers from losing their saved games. Read full post →Mortal Kombat X Patch For PC Deletes Saved Games

hugo barraOne of the main differences between iPhones and other brands and platforms is the microSD card support. A lot of Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry handsets support memory expansion via microSD which is usually a cheaper way of increasing the memory on one’s phone.

The microSD card also acts like extra storage to allow users to move files around in the event they have to, but some of Xiaomi’s offerings oddly enough lack microSD support. So why is that? Speaking at the launch of the Mi 4i in Hong Kong, Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra explains why the company isn’t a fan of microSD cards. Read full post →Hugo Barra Explains Why Xiaomi Is Against microSD Cards

Screenshots are quite handy when you need to show someone what is happening on your screen. There are also many methods to take Screenshots in Windows making the process even easier. However, there are times when screenshots are just not enough to present what you want to convey.

Screenshots work great when you need to provide step by step instructions, but sometimes you just need to make a movie of a process, especially, a complex one. To make a video of your screen, Windows doesn’t offer any built-in feature unlike Screenshots.

However, there are some third-party tools, both free and paid that will help your make a video of your computer screen. Most of the tools are actually paid, but we will like to introduce a free tool that get the job done perfectly. Read full post →How To Record Computer Screen (Free)

google logoWhen searching for information online, do you find yourself using your mobile device more than your PC? After all our phones are with us all the time, when we’re out, when we’re in bed, while commuting, and even in the bathroom so the convenience of being able to search for information anytime and anywhere is understandable.

As it turns out, yes, it seems that mobile search is starting to increase and according to Google executive Jerry Dischler, there are instances in which mobile search actually outpaces that of desktop searches in some countries, such as in the US and Japan, for example. Xperia_C4_colour_rangeLast year Sony announced the Xperia C3 which is a phone aimed at the selfie-taking lover. The handset featured a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens which made it easier to take selfies with, and also came with some camera features and functionality that allows for easier group selfie shots.

htc-one-m9-live-3One of the features of the HTC One M9 is that it uses Gorilla Glass 4 which is Corning’s latest glass technology that is supposedly tougher and more durable than its predecessors. However it seems that not all HTC One M9 handsets were made equal as a tweet from @upleaks has revealed that some handsets were made using Gorilla Glass 3.

According to what seemed like a leaked document @upleaks obtained, it mentions that some HTC One M9 handsets were made with Gorilla Glass 3, and some were made using Gorilla Glass 4. It is unclear as to which batches these are and if they might be sorted by region or just chosen at random, but if it is true it certainly will not go down well for HTC. galaxy j1 verizonEarlier this year Samsung announced the Galaxy J1. This is a handset whose specs aren’t particularly impressive, but given its low-end hardware, it came with a very affordable price tag as well. Now if you’re in the market for a cheap phone perhaps to use as a secondary device, or maybe one to give to your kids, you might want to keep an eye out for the handset.

Thanks to the folks at TechnoBuffalo, they have managed to get their hands on leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy J1 with Verizon’s branding on it, all of which seems to suggest that the phone will be arriving stateside and will be sold on Verizon. It is unclear if there will be other versions for other carriers in the US, but for now the leak only points towards Verizon as the most likely candidate.
