Android tablets are a dime a dozen, but that’s not a bad thing since it means that users have more than one option to choose from, not to mention that for the most part, most Android tablets are priced cheaper than its iOS competitors. In any case Romanian company Evolio has announced the company’s first quad-core tablet offering, the Quadra, which we guess we have pretty much given away, will be powered by a quad-core tablet clocked at 1.2GHz. The tablet will also feature a Vivante GC1000 GPU, a 10.1” 1280×800 IPS LCD display with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and a 5,000mAh battery. It will only connect to WiFi, but for those looking to hook onto a 3G network, you will require an external 3G adapter. It is priced at 999 Romanian leu which is about $296 when converted and for the time being, it is currently being offered in Romania although no word if and when Evolio plans to start offering it stateside. It wasn’t too long ago that Sony teased the PS4 ahead of Microsoft’s own Xbox event, perhaps hoping to steal some of the focus and attention and shine it upon themselves. Of course the teaser did not do much to show what the console would actually look like, which we guess is why it’s called a teaser in the first place, but it seems that it did not stop one Reddit user from compiling the various angles of the hardware hinted at in the video and coming up with what he thinks the PS4 could look like. Of course there is a good chance that he could be wrong about the console, but we guess since the composite was made based on the teaser images shown in the video, there are some parts which he might have nailed. In any case based on this mockup, it does not look entirely impossible and in fact it kind of reminds us a bit of the PS3. Either way make what you will of this, and hopefully Sony will be unveiling the console in its entirety in the near future, but in the meantime what do you guys think? The other day it was reported that HTC had dismissed rumors suggesting that the company might be following in Samsung’s footsteps and release a Google Edition version of their HTC One device. Considering that there are plenty of users out there who don’t appreciate manufacturers applying their own UI onto phones, usually causing unnecessary lag and bloatware, we’re sure that HTC fans out there wouldn’t mind seeing a Google Edition HTC One, and thanks to a new rumor, it has suggested that HTC is indeed working on a Google Edition HTC One handset.

According to infamous ROM leaker, @LlabTooFeR, he seems to be under the impression that a HTC One running on stock Android is in the pipeline, and will be released “without Sense 5”, and could be even released as early as this summer! Of course if you remember HTC’s statement, it stated that they were not “currently” planning a Nexus Edition of the HTC One, and we guess the keyword is “currently”, suggesting that perhaps some time down the line a Google Edition HTC One is a possibility. In any case we guess if you’re too stubborn to believe the official statement, we’ll just have to wait and see if such a device will be released, but in the meantime please take it with a grain of salt.

Names like Casio and Caterpillar are ones that you typically do not associate with smartphones, but they have in the past released rugged devices designed for customers who work in harsh environments. Well if you’re looking to replace your current phone with a more rugged one, Caterpillar has something you might want to take a look at. The company, in collaboration with Bullitt Mobile, has announce the B15 Android smartphone that is IP67 certified, meaning it will be able to withstand both dust and water, and at the same time feature wet finger tracking technology meaning you will be able to interact with the screen even while your hands are wet.

The body of the B15 is made from aluminum and features a toughened rubberized casing which should help absorb some of the shock when dropped. It also sports a Corning Gorilla Glass display, and according to Caterpillar, the phone will be able to survive drops from up to 1.8m onto solid concrete. As far as the rest of the phone’s specs are concerned, the B15 will sport a 4” 480×800 display with a 1GHz dual-core chipset with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, a 5MP camera, a 2,000mAh battery and will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Available via Caterpillar’s website, the B15 will set you back $349.99.

While the Mac G5 is a pretty nicely designed computer, let’s face it, technology does not last forever and eventually we will upgrade and move on, but what would you do if you had an old Mac G5 lying around collecting dust? While we guess you try to keep it in as good a shape as possible to resell it as a collector’s item 20 years down the road, a more immediate use for it could be making use of the holes on the side of the casing and turn it into a BBQ grill! We’re pretty sure that’s not what the folks at Apple had in mind when they designed the computer and its case, but that’s pretty much what this guy did with his old G5. Are you planning to pick up the Blackberry Q10? Well if you are, you might be interested to learn that both T-Mobile and AT&T have launched pre-registration pages for the device, allowing customers to fill in their information and be notified when the device goes up for pre-order. While AT&T did not reveal how much they would be charging for the device on contract, T-Mobile has revealed that the Q10 will cost customers $99.99 as a down payment, with the device totaling $579.99 after 24 months.

The Blackberry Q10 is the Canadian company’s second attempt at a Blackberry 10 device, and one that might be well received among hardcore Blackberry users due to its familiar physical QWERTY keyboard layout and a design that is reminiscent of the Bold 9900. There are plenty of places where one is able to purchase digital music, although for the most part, many people equate digital music purchases to iTunes, and rightfully so considering that many artists and groups make their songs available on Apple’s digital music platform alongside physical copies as well. However it looks like Blackberry World could catchup to iTunes in terms of digital music purchases, at least that’s what’s being inferred from a statement made by Charlie Miller, Blackberry’s Director of Alliances (via TrustedReviews).

According to Miller, a good 20% of the purchases made from Blackberry World is music, which is pretty significant considering that Blackberry World also plays home to other digital Blackberry products, such as apps for instance. Miller goes on to state that singles are still the most popular form of music purchase, but sales of full albums are starting to catch on as well, and that their music sales are notably higher than their competitors “proportionally”, although he declined to name any of them. Blackberry users out there do you agree with that figure? Do you find yourself purchasing your music from Blackberry World more often than not?

Word on the street has it that Apple has a low-cost iPhone planned, supposedly to help the Cupertino company fight against the competition who are able to offer lower priced products to capture emerging markets. Well it looks like Apple might want to hurry up with that rumored device because in at least one emerging market, India, Nokia and Windows Phone appears to be playing catchup. According to a report from TimesDigit, it seems that Nokia’s budget Lumia 520 is quite a hit in India with the handset reportedly selling out in various online retailers within the country.

While the graph from Statcounter shows that iOS is still dominating the market share in India, it appears to be on the decline albeit a slow one, and we can also see that the Windows Phone market share increasing as well, albeit slowly too. We’re not sure how long it will take for Windows Phone to catchup to iOS in India, but at the rate this is going, and assuming Apple hasn’t released the alleged low-cost iPhone, we’re thinking probably sooner rather than later. What do you guys think? Will iOS eventually lose ground to Windows Phone in India where low-cost offerings will appeal to those unwilling to pay for Apple’s premium device?

While the Nokia Lumia 928 is one of the Finnish company’s latest handsets, it is certainly going up against stiff competition from the like of Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S4, but it looks like Nokia is not shy when it comes to taking jabs at the competition. Nokia has released a new ad for the Lumia 928, basically touting the phone’s ability to snap photos and videos in low-light with pretty decent clarity, and at the same time taking pot shots at the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S4, which by comparison photos released by Nokia, seem to do a way better job. In fact Nokia’s jab at the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S4 weren’t even subtle, bluntly stating that it is “Better than the Apple iPhone 5. Better than the Samsung Galaxy S4.” What do you guys think? Does Nokia really have something worth bragging about, or do you think that the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 aren’t too bad when it comes to low-light photo/videography?
