As it stands, Apple Pay is currently only available in the US. This is due to the fact that the credit cards used in Apple Pay must be tied to a US credit card company. This means that despite you owning the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus, that feature won’t be available in your country, at least for now.
However it seems that Apple Pay can be used overseas, such as in countries like Australia where NFC payment methods are widely available. This was tested out by Beau Giles who is a web developer and blogger based out of Sydney. Apple Pay is live and this is great for those who own either the iPhone 6 or the 6 Plus. Now there have been rumors that there could be some kind of Apple Pay rewards program. The rumors had suggested that the service could be launched in 2015, but now thanks to a new report from Bank Innovation, it seems that the rewards program could be launched this year in time for the holidays.
Unfortunately the details surrounding the alleged rewards program remains unknown, but it has been suggested that it will rely on the use of iBeacons to notify shoppers of potential rewards or deals that they can take advantage of if they were to use Apple Pay.
