8GB Nintendo Wii U Sees $60 Price Cut At Target

Target is now selling the 8GB white Nintendo Wii U console for $239 as opposed to the full retail price of $299. That is a $60 price cut, though it is a bit too soon to say that this cut will encourage more customers to pick up this console, which has apparently been moving off the shelves very slowly. Many analysts have already reported that Wii U sales have been very disappointing in the last couple of months, Nintendo claims the reason for this is that there’s a lack of software titles. The company says the need to aggressively focus on this and it hopes to curb this problem by the end of the year.

Many retailers do not offer discounts on the Nintendo Wii U, Target is offering the biggest discount by far, even surpassing Amazon’s $279.99 price tag for this console. However the 32GB black Wii U will still set customers back the usual retail price of $349.99. If you have been considering buying this console, now is perhaps the best time to waltz in your local Target and pick one up for a steal.

LG Optimus F3 For Sprint Rumored [Image]

Sprint is already said to be gearing up to offer the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone on its network. Apparently that is not all the carrier will be adding from LG. Rumor has it that LG Optimus F3 is also coming to Sprint, an alleged press shot of this device has been leaked by none other than infamous Twitter account @evleaks. This particular source has a very solid track record, so perhaps it won’t be an exercise in futility to look upon the possibility of Sprint carrying LG Optimus F3.

The F series of smartphones was announced by LG at Mobile World Congress 2013. The idea behind this particular line of smartphones was to bring LTE connectivity to the masses at an affordable price. Said to have a 4 inch WVGA screen with dualcore processor and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, it is rumored that Sprint will announce the LG Optimus F3 in the next few weeks and will price it “aggressively” on contract. As far as LG Optimus G Pro is concerned, AT&T is already selling it in the U.S., Sprint is expected to release in towards the end of next month.

Alleged Wireless Card For New Macs Hints Next Gen Wi Fi Support

We reported last month that a possible confirmation for 802.11ac Wi-Fi support was hidden in the code of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4 beta version. The term 802.11ac might be confusing for a lot of readers, basically it refers to the next generation Wi-Fi standard, which is also some times referred to as 5G or Gigabit Wi-Fi. It is heavily being rumored that the new Mac lineup is going to be announced at WWDC 2013, and prior to that, an alleged wireless card for new Macs has popped up online which hints at support for high speed 802.11ac wireless internet.

The card in question is a Broadcom BCM94360CD PCI-E mini custom combo WLAN+Bluetooth card, which would theoretically allow speeds of up to 1.3Gbps. The range is said to significantly improve as well. It was rumored previously that Apple had inked a deal with Broadcom to put its 802.11ac cards in the 2013 Macs, and with the increasing rumors of new Mac lineup being just around the corner, perhaps we wouldn’t have to wait so long for an official confirmation from Apple on this after all.

Samsung Wallet App Finally Released For U.S.

The Samsung Wallet application was announced back at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in February. At first glance it looked like this app was quite similar to Apple’s Passbook app, and there’s no doubt that it is indeed. The tasks it performs are quite similar to the ones Passbook does, and much like it , Samsung Wallet is exclusive to the Korean manufacturer’s own smartphones. Three months down the road since its announcement, the app has now finally been made available in the U.S. and South Korea.

For now it seems like the US version of Samsung Wallet app can only handle barcoded membership cards, boarding passes, event tickets and coupons. The Korean version is said to support credit card information, which would enable enable payments through the smartphone after punching in a PIN or password once only. Support for membership cards, tickets and coupons is likely to be added to the Korean version soon. Available for free on Samsung Apps, the Wallet app is compatible with Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 HD LTE, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note devices. AT&T Wont Charge Oklahoma Tornado Victims Any Overage Fees

I’m sure many of you have already heard the devastating news of a tornado that hit Oklahoma City on Monday, racking up a body count of 91, apart from severely damaging government infrastructure and resident’s homes. According to various media outlets, the storm system was about a mile wide and also affected surrounding parts of Oklahoma City. In times of such natural disasters, people frantically try to reach out to their loved ones and inform or inquire about their well being. AT&T has announced its support for the victims, saying that no overage fees for data, voice or text will be charged to those in the affected areas.

It is certainly a nice gesture on AT&T’s part, the last thing that tornado victims would want to worry about right now would be extra charges on their phone bills. State president for AT&T Oklahoma, Bryan Gonterman recommended that people use text messaging more than voice calls so that high call volumes don’t hold up voice communications entirely. This exemption will remain in effect for all tornado affected areas till the 30th of June.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Expected Price Pops Up

Before Samsung had even officially announced Galaxy Mega 6.3, rumor was that the device was listed for pre-order in Germany for €699. One Galaxy Mega variant has already stopped by the FCC for approval, there’s still no official confirmation as to when these gigantic devices will be released in the U.S. Latest rumors claim that the release of both Mega ‘phablets’ has been delayed and they won’t be available until July, as opposed to the previous May release. Despite that, a couple of retailers in the UK have already listed the price for Galaxy Mega 6.3, which is approximately £460.

It is also claimed that an 8GB variant of Mega 6.3 will be available as well, though there are no rumored price points for that device right now. One UK based retailer claims to have this device in stock by July, whereas the other does not list any expected release time frame. While all this is happening across the pond, prospective customers stateside may have to wait for at least a month before the Mega 6.3 comes over. And as we said in our detailed Galaxy Mega 6.3 review, its certainly is an impressive device, that may perhaps warrant an anxious wait.

In February at the Mobile World Congress 2013 Samsung revealed HomeSync, an Android Jelly Bean powered set-top box. It is actually a home media server with a 1TB hard drive, has complete access to Google Play Store when connected to the internet either through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Samsung didn’t say much about this device since then, but now they’ve posted an official HomeSync walkthrough video online that details exactly what this device is capable of doing. Users can store all of the multimedia content which is either on their tablets or smartphones to HomeSync’s 1TB hard drive, through which the content can then be viewed on a TV.

Under the hood, Samsung HomeSync has a 1.7GHz dualcore processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of flash memory and support for all standard audio and video codecs. Optical-out audio, USB 3.0 and 1080p HDMI with HDCP support is also built in. Still Samsung has not revealed an exact release date for this device. Though considering that the walkthrough video meant to educate prospective customers is now out, it could only be a matter of time before the actual product is rolled out as well.
