We’ve seen some incredible LEGO creations over the years, but we don’t see many record breakers these days, which is exactly what you’re staring at now that this 1:1 scale model of an X-Wing fighter has now been unveiled.
The X-Wing fighter uses a total of 5,335,200 bricks and accurately reproduces LEGO’s official 9493 X-Wing Fighter. A total of 32 people spent 17,000 hours building the 43-foot long, 45,980-pound fighter inside of the LEGO Model Shop in Kladno, Czech Republic. Once assembled, it was shipped to New York City, where it’s currently on display in the middle of Times Square.
Creating a world-breaking LEGO X-Wing fighter wasn’t the company’s only reason for building this amazing piece as it’s also being used to promote a new three-part animated series headed to Cartoon Network called Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles. New Yorkers won’t be the only ones who can marvel at the glory that is the LEGO X-Wing fighter as it’ll be making its way out to the West Coast and will stay there until the end of 2013.

A 3D printed pizza may seem like the ultimate couch potato’s dream, but we can’t deny when a 3D printed is used to save a life, especially a baby’s life, we’ll happily wait our turn with a 3D printer if that’s what it’s being used for.
Bryan and April Gionfriddo have a 6-month-old baby, Kaiba, who suddenly couldn’t breathe due to his bronchus suddenly collapsing. The baby’s parents took him to the emergency room where it was determined Kaiba would require a splint being inserted in order to hold open his bronchial tube, to hopefully allow the tissue to grow and heal around it properly. Doctors decided to use a 3D printer to create the splint as time was of the essence in order to Kaiba to survive his ordeal.
Kaiba was first imaged in order for technicians to get accurate dimensions to then have those measurements used to create a computer model, which acted as the blueprint. With that information, the 3D printer was able to print out the custom splint doctors needed in about a day.

While a specific release date for Sony’s latest console, the PlayStation 4, has yet to be revealed, it will be launching in 2013 that much we know. In case the 2013 launch was still a bit hazy for the rest of you guys, Sony seems to have confirmed it themselves thanks to a newspaper ad in which the bottom clearly states, “Coming 2013”. The ad was spotted in The Metro newspaper by Future’s
We’re sure that there are many Final Fantasy fans out there who are sick of waiting for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn to exit beta and make its way into their hands. Well the good news is that if you are one of those fans, the 27th of August 2013 will be a date you’ll want to mark down on your calendars because it seems that that is the date that Square Enix has revealed to be when gamers will be able to get their hands on the game. Technically we guess this is a re-release since the game was originally released a couple of years ago, but due to bugs and poor response, Square Enix has gone back to the drawing board and came out with A Realm Reborn.
Last week it was reported that Google’s next-gen Nexus 7 tablet could be
Don’t you just hate it when you try to put your earphones in your pocket, but when you pull them out they seem to have gotten themselves in a massive tangle? Well here’s a pretty nifty solution to help with cable management called Sound Pockets. As you can see in the image above, Sound Pockets is actually an iPhone case that comes with a pop-open case at the back in which you can safely stow away your earphones without having to worry about them getting tangled in your pocket. Unfortunately this does add a bit of bulk to your iPhone, but if you’re not too fussed over its bulk then we guess this case would be a pretty useful accessory. The Sound Pocket is compatible with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 and can be yours for $35 via
As if Leica cameras weren’t expensive enough, it seems that the camera manufacturer has a new limited edition camera planned that will set you back ¥283,500 ($2,795). In conjunction with Leica opening their store in the SOGO departmental store in Yokohama, Japan, the company has decided to release a limited edition Leica X2 Yokohama Edition camera, and by limited we are talking about only 30 such units ever being made. The camera will not differ from the original X2 in terms of hardware, with the main difference being that in the case of the limited edition model, it will sport a lizard-style leather for its body, and will feature the same material for its shoulder strap and camera protector. The Leica store in SOGO is currently accepting pre-orders for the camera with a released slated for around July.
