robot-modelThe world of fashion can be deemed to be a quirky one – and it is far from surprising at all to see how robots can play a role in fashion. Androids have made their way into fashion magazines as well as runways recently, where designers like Thom Browne and Rick Owens, alongside newcomers like David Koma, have touched on fembot imagery in the fall 2015 collection. Basically, models dressed in frocks that have been patterned with soldering dots and faux computer circuitry strutted their stuff.

Our computers are amazing devices. We can watch videos, listen to music, play games, edit photo, type up documents, compile presentations, and etc. However all of these functions and features can be downright distracting especially if you’re planning on getting some work done, which has led to the creation of the Saent button.

The Saent is basically a big white button that connects to your devices via Bluetooth. The idea is simple: it helps you keep focused on your work by disabling apps that are deemed to be distracting. All users have to do is press down on it and it will help keep you undistracted for the next 30, 50, or 90 minutes. Read full post →This Big White Button Helps Keep You Focused On Work

robot-author-apDo not get too excited about this particular bit of news that a robot has passed a self-awareness test for the first time, as we are still very far away from that kind of self-awareness like that of Skynet or JARVIS from Iron Man. Still, it is quite an achievement, and this robot has achieved such a “status” after solving a ‘wise men’ riddle, which so happens to be a logic quiz that has been aced by humans only all this while. So do not worry about having something like the T-800 running around amok, but it might be the precursor.

The idea of using drones to deliver packages is not a new one, in fact, Amazon has also advocated drone-only lanes in the airspace, and this is a good idea since you have folks shooting drones down due to an “invasion of privacy”. Well, the FAA themselves have their fair share of stuff to say before drone deliveries become commonplace and are approved, and here we are with a proof of concept video that shows off drone delivery – done right, I must say. The Workhorse Group intends to perform drone package delivery with a slight variation in its method, as it will use an electric truck that has wireless charging capability alongside a drone that can carry up to 10 pounds, allowing the delivery driver to go to places which are rather difficult to access.
