If you’ve ever placed an order for food delivery via an app, you will realize that there’s usually a section in the app that allows users to add comments. These comments could basically range from warning the delivery person of an aggressive dog, or to bring extra napkins, and so on. However one woman in Florida was smart enough to use the comments section to send a help message after being held hostage.
According to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office press release, the woman in question Cheryl Treadway had been arguing with her boyfriend who pretty much held her as a hostage while carrying a large knife. The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset was originally pegged for a release this year, or at least that was the intention of the developers. However a report from last month suggested that the device had been delayed and might not be launched in 2015 after all and would most likely see a release in 2016.
Turns out the report was right as the folks at Oculus have officially announced that the virtual reality headset would only begin shipping to customers in Q1 2016. We suppose this is actually rather good news as prior to this, we did not have an official release date, only speculation and rough estimates as to when the consumer version might be released.
