google_image_searchFrom time to time Google makes a variety of changes to its design of its websites. It’s usually nothing huge or drastic, but rather subtle changes meant to help improve the ease of use of its services. Recently it seems that Google has been testing out a new design for its image search results on mobile devices.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the image to the left is the original design where Google would place the image you selected against a black background. However as you can see in the image to the right, Google has changed the background color to a brighter color making it easier on the eyes. LG-G-Watch-R-12Recently Google released a list of Android Wear devices that would receive WiFi compatibility with an upcoming update to the platform. Oddly enough several LG wearables were left out of the mix, such as the LG G Watch and the LG G Watch R, although the good news is that LG has since clarified the matter.

According to a post on AndroidWorld (via Ausdroid), the reason why some of LG’s wearables are not supported is because the functionality was not built in the first place. Based on the translated statement from LG, “Regardless of what HAS BEEN Reported, the latest version or [sic] Android Wear does not automatically providence [sic] Wi-Fi support Unless the device was designed with this functionality in place at the time of sale.” Read full post →LG G Watch R WiFi Compatibility Coming Q3 2015

bionic-lens-20150518The future is here because according to Dr. Garth Webb, an optometrist from British Columbia, he claims to have invented a bionic eye that will give its wearer vision three times better than 20/20 and the good news is that it will last you an entire lifetime. Speaking to CBC News, Webb claims that this is a project that was 8 years in the making with $3 million worth of funding.

Speaking about how clear the Bionic Lens would be, “This is vision enhancement that the world has never seen before. If you can just barely see the clock at 10 feet, when you get the Bionic Lens you can see the clock at 30 feet away.” Webb is also claiming that the device will not require a long procedure and will only take 8 minutes to install. oculus-inviteTotal Recall, a Hawaii company, has recently sued Oculus VR (the company that recently sent out a special invite). Grounds for this legal entanglement? Total Recall claims that Oculus VR has misappropriated confidential information and proprietary technology. This particular lawsuit was filed at the U.S. District Court in Northern California, where it claimed that they hired Oculus founder Palmer Luckey in 2011 in order to come up with a prototype for a head-mounted display. Needless to say, it has been alleged that Mr. Luckey eventually made use of the information to come up with the Oculus Rift headset.

innos-d6000It goes without saying that modern day smartphones tend to have a whole lot of features, and useful ones at that, too, which make our life a whole lot easier and more convenient, but on the other hand, the smartphones also do not last too long. xiaomi-mi-4i-updateIt was at the beginning of this particular work week that we brought you an interesting video of the Xiaomi Mi 4i’s packaging – one where it proved itself to be extremely tough and strong, even when adults are standing on it. I suppose the only thing that the packaging needs now would be the ability to float, just in case a shipment gets lost at sea. But I digress – it looks like this particular handset has issues with overheating as well, as it runs on the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC that boasts of an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and is mated to the Adreno 405 GPU.
