project ara teaserWe know that many of you guys out there are looking forward to Project Ara being made a reality. That will be taking place in 2015 according to Google, but what sort of components could you buy upon its launch, and where would you buy them? Well it seems that Google has a plan on setting up a separate marketplace in which Project Ara’s components would be sold at.

This was revealed by Google’s Paul Eremenko who was speaking during a recent interview at Purdue University. According to Eremenko, Google will be basing Project Ara’s marketplace on the Google Play Store. “The Ara MDK is free and open and available to everybody, so everybody could create a module per the specifications of the developer’s kit and put it in the Ara module marketplace, which is analogous to the Google Play store, and sell directly to consumers.” Read full post →Project Ara To Get Its Own Dedicated Marketplace

Well in case reminding you of your bills and telling you where you parked your car, it seems that Google Now will now be able to tell you things like when an eclipse will be taking place and if there is any police activity in your area.

This is great for those who are constantly on the lookout for eclipses – maybe you want to photograph it, or maybe you just want to mark it down on your calendar. It’s also great to know when there is police activity in an area as it could suggest that traffic might be bad or maybe the situation is a bit too dangerous for you to go check it out. Motorola DROID Turbo AndroidSpin leak 640x537It seems that Motorola and Verizon are having a tough time keeping the Motorola Droid Turbo under wraps. We’ve seen leaked press renders and now thanks to a newly leaked photo, an image of the handset in the flesh has surfaced. Unfortunately it doesn’t tell us anything new or shows us anything we didn’t already know, but it provides a more “realistic” look compared to the cleaner looks found in the render.

That being said, it seems that the Droid Turbo will share some design concepts with the Moto X and to a certain extent, the Nexus 6 as well. While the specs of the handset have yet to be confirmed, the rumors are suggesting that the phone is quite the powerhouse. Read full post →Motorola Droid Turbo Leaked In The Flesh

qualcomm 4k dongle

Some high-end smartphones offer the ability to record video in 4K but you really can’t enjoy playback on the display of a mobile device.
