elon-musk-newThe rumors are claiming that Apple is working on an electric/self-driving car of their own. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but if there is one thing consistent about these rumors is that Apple has been steadily poaching employees from Tesla, one of the frontrunners in the electric car market.

In fact the rumors claim that the poaching of employees is so bad that it has apparently affected the development of Tesla’s cars. Now you would think that Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO would be worried, but apparently not. In fact he doesn’t think too much of the hires according to a recent interview with German newspaper Handelsbatt (via Cult of Mac). oneplus xA couple of weeks ago we reported that there was a handset from OnePlus possibly called the OnePlus X that was due for a launch in October. As it turns out, the rumors weren’t that far off the mark. According to OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu, he posted an image on Weibo which you can see in the screenshot to the right.

As you can see, the image shows a map and lines that clearly mark an “X”. According to the translation, the “X” name is mentioned too although the translation does seem a little off and doesn’t really make sense, at least not in English. As to when the phone will be launched? There is a good chance we might see it come October 12. Read full post →Possible OnePlus X Moniker Confirmed By Company’s CEO

htc-first-discontinued-attYou guys might recall that a couple of years ago, Facebook and HTC teamed up for the Facebook phone called the HTC First. It wasn’t a very impressive handset to begin with, but the main selling point was that it came with several dedicated Facebook features and came with Facebook Home preinstalled.

It wasn’t long before the phone was discounted to $0.99, which is why it does not come as a surprise to learn that Facebook is no longer interested in making another Facebook phone. This is according to Dave Marcus, Facebook’s Vice President of Messaging products who said that the social network will “probably not” be making another smartphone. open_announcement_oneplus2One of the downsides to the OnePlus 2 isn’t so much the phone itself, it’s the ordering process in which customers will need an invite first before being able to purchase one. In a way it’s good as it manages inventory and expectations, but at the same time we reckon it’s frustrating for customers who have to wait.

Now if you’re still eyeing the OnePlus 2 despite the plethora of new phones being released into the market, you’re in luck. Making good on their promise that the company made last month with regards to orders being delayed, OnePlus has officially announced that starting October 12, customers will be able to order the OnePlus 2 for themselves without an invite. Lumia_950XL_1As many would have heard by now, the new Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL flagship smartphones will be exclusive to AT&T, something that carriers such as T-Mobile aren’t too happy about. To clarify things, the folks at WinBeta reached out to Microsoft who has since issued a statement on the matter.

According to Microsoft, “We’re refocusing our channel strategy, narrowing it in the short-term and planning for broader operator availability long-term. While there was interest across the board from U.S. operators, currently we’ve made the decision to have AT&T carry the Lumia 950, and then sell both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL unlocked through our own channel in Microsoft stores.” Read full post →Microsoft Comments On Lumia 950/950 XL Exclusivity On AT&T
