oneplus-2-review-16Even before the OnePlus 2 was released, the number of people waiting for an invite to purchase the handset was standing way beyond the 2 million mark, indicating that if you did not reserve yourself an invite early on, chances are you could be waiting a while until it is your turn, or maybe not.

According to a recent tweet by OnePlus’ co-founder Carl Pei, it seems that the company is gearing up for an aggressive rollout of invites next weekend. According to Pei, “Apologies for the wait. We were set back by almost a month, but finally our aggressive invite rollout starts next weekend. Pretty stoked.” Read full post →OnePlus Promises Aggressive OnePlus 2 Invites Next Weekend

If there is one reason to love soft keys is that they don’t “break” unlike physical buttons which can be irritating, especially if that physical button is an important one like the home button for your smartphone. Granted OEMs probably test it and ensure it will last you for the next couple of years, but sometimes some mistakes slip through the crack.

This was recently evidenced in the newly launch OnePlus 2. It seems that there have been several users on the OnePlus forums who have been complaining that the handset’s home button is rather unresponsive. Oddly enough it seems that this might have something to do with a grounding issue in the phone, which you can see for yourself in the video above. iphone 6s motionPerhaps we tend to take things for granted, but the wallpapers found on our smartphones aren’t just a bunch of pretty pictures and are usually well thought out to either create a signature look for the phone, or to provide a background where app icons can stand out easily. We’ve seen how much attention to detail Apple has put into the Apple Watch’s Motion face, and now it looks like that same attention to detail could be arriving on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, they claim that their sources have told them that there is a chance that the next-gen iPhones could be getting an Apple Watch-like Motion wallpaper. These animated wallpapers will go beyond the ones introduced earlier in iOS 7, and will feature more elaborate animations such as colorful arrays of smoke or to a koi fish swimming in water. In fact a recently leaked iPhone 6s Plus box showed off such a design. Read full post →iPhone 6s Could Get Apple Watch-like “Motion” Wallpapers

lg-g4-metallicThe LG G4 is definitely a looker – and also a performer, of course, where the world of flagship smartphones are concerned, but this does not mean that there is no room for improvement, right? It seems that in April earlier this year, when LG first made an announcement of its flagship device, there were two versions available – one with a normal looking plastic back, while the other came with a genuine leather back that definitely has a whole lot more premium feel to it. However, leather is not as durable as some might think, especially on a device like a smartphone. It seems that folks in India now have a third option for the LG G4 – one that comes in a metallic chassis, where it has been described as a “fine hammer-crafted metal body” with either titanium black or gold choices to pick from.

Google-ChromeGoogle’s Chrome browser is definitely one of the more popular ones in the market at the moment, but this does not mean that it is perfect, as it has its fair share of flaws, too. However, my personal experience with Chrome has been better than Windows Explorer or Firefox over the years, so that is what I will stick with for the moment – until something better comes along, that is. Still, one of the more annoying features of Chrome would be the autoplay feature in tabs should they not be in the foreground. Google’s Chrome will fix this – in other words, even when a tab is in the foreground with a video auto-playing, at least Chrome users need not subject themselves to different advertisements blaring out with multiple tabs opened simultaneously.

facebook logoFacebook has achieved yet another milestone in its journey as a social network on Monday earlier this week, where company CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that for the very first time, over a billion people actually used Facebook – all within the span of a single day. This auspicious occasion was declared over Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page (where else?) in a post, where he claimed that one out of seven people on Earth logged into the social network in order to remain connected with their family, and friends too, of course. In June this year, Facebook had 968 million daily active users, so this is quite a feat.

xiaomi logoThere has been whispers going around that the folks over at Xiaomi will be rolling out their very own chipsets that will see action in their own smartphones and tablets of the future, and it seems that those rumors happen to have some credence. In fact, the latest whispers to go around the grapevine would be plans by Xiaomi to roll out not one, but two different SoCs that are set to roll out some time next year. The use of its own low-end chipset would allow Xiaomi to churn out even more affordable Redmi branded handsets, despite their relatively low price at the moment.

fass-assassinMovie adaptations of video games rarely do that well in the market, which means those that actually rake in the moolah happen to be more of the exception than the rule. What happens when you have a smoking hot actor or actress leading the charge? That is no guarantee either, but one thing is for sure – Michael Fassbender is the perfect eye candy fodder in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie.
