Just last week Ubisoft revealed the minimum and recommended specs for PC gamers who are looking to play Assassin’s Creed Unity on their computers. While we know that the game is a new game, the requirements were surprisingly high. While both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs are supported, it seems that NVIDIA gamers will have a slight edge.

Ubisoft has recently released a video which shows off Assassin’s Creed featuring NVIDIA GameWorks’ technology which is basically where the game has been tuned and enhanced for gamers running an NVIDIA GPU. This isn’t to say that your AMD GPU has been rendered useless, but if you want the best of the best graphics, NVIDIA is the way to go. gtav details09122014 015 640x359The Grand Theft Auto franchise has been around for many years now which means that compared to Rockstar’s latest Grand Theft Auto V, the rest of their graphics are starting to look a little dated. Does this mean that Rockstar could eventually be releasing a HD remake of all their older GTA titles?

Well unfortunately that isn’t happening anytime soon, but according to Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, the idea of a HD remake of older GTA titles isn’t entirely out of the question. This was revealed by Zelnick during Take-Two’s earnings calls in which the CEO revealed that GTA 5 had managed to sell a whopping 34 million copies to date. huawei ascend mate 02Earlier this year, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 was launched, which means at this time of writing, the phone is still less than a year old, meaning that it isn’t particularly old. The phone was also shipped with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board, but unfortunately for owners of the device, if you were hoping that it will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, that’s out of the question.

This is because Huawei has recently announced that the handset will not even be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update, which we have to admit is mighty unfortunate for owners of the device. Read full post →Android 4.4 KitKat Not Coming For Huawei’s Ascend Mate 2

A lot of high-end smartphones are designed to look good and pack high-end specs under its hood. Most of the time these devices weren’t meant to take a beating, save for the occasional drop or bump. With that being said, how does the BlackBerry Passport hold up? Will it, just like most smartphones, fall apart after a few drops?

Well surprisingly it turns out that the BlackBerry Passport can take a fair amount of abuse. This was demonstrated in a recent video (see above) in which the BlackBerry Passport is dropped at various heights and at various angles to simulate what it would be like if one were to drop it accidentally. lg display bezel 640x630If there is a benefit to having a display with a thin bezel is that it allows manufacturers to create larger displays that will not take up too much space because of its bezel. For smartphones it means we can look forward to larger displays while it can still fit nicely in our hands. That being said, LG Display has recently announced a new display with what they are calling the world’s thinnest bezels.

The bezels on LG Display’s new displays measure an impressive 0.7mm, which as you can see in the image above is almost invisible. LG went on to explain how they managed to achieve the bezel width. “LG Display’s Neo Edge technology uses an adhesive instead of double-sided tape to attach and completely seal the total area and edges of the panel’s circuit board and backlight unit.” Read full post →LG Display Unveils 5.3-inch Display With Almost-Invisible Bezels

motorola moto x 2nd gen hands on 10 640x426Earlier this year, it was announced that Lenovo would be buying over Motorola Mobility from  Google. iwatch conceptWhen Apple announced the Apple Watch, safe to say many were a bit surprised as many had initially expected Apple to call it the iWatch given the company’s propensity to add the “i” in front of some of its products’ names. While we can’t be 100% sure as to why Apple chose the Apple Watch moniker, a reason could be that the iWatch name has already been trademarked in Europe.

The iWatch trademark is currently held by an Irish company called Probendi and according to a recent interview that RTE Radio had with the company’s CEO Daniele Di Salvo, it looks like the company will be using that trademark to launch a smartwatch of their own. The trademark at the moment is being used for health and safety communications software. Read full post →iWatch Trademark Holder In The UK To Launch Smartwatch Of Their Own

PCalc widget 640x480After what seemed like a really long time coming, Apple finally introduced the concept of widgets in iOS 8. The widgets would exist in the Notification Center where users could slide it down to take a quick glance or access certain app’s features via a shortcut. Now recently there has been one particular widget that has caught the attention of the public and Apple – a calculator widget.

Basically the idea is that you pull down Notification Center and will be able to start using a calculator right away. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately Apple doesn’t seem to think so and has asked developer James Thomson to remove his app’s widget. The app, PCalc, will be allowed to exist in the iTunes App Store, but its widget will have to be removed. Read full post →Apple To Disallow Calculator-based Widgets In Notification Center
