Many are probably familiar with the Philips Hue smart lightbulbs, but in case you didn’t know, the company had also previously launched the Hue Lightstrip, which in case its name wasn’t obvious already, is a strip of LED lights. Now previously many had criticized the Hue Lightstrip because it did not offer white lighting.

Instead it only offered up colored lights which can be a bit annoying when you just want something simple. It was also short at just 2m in length, meaning that if you plan to use it all over your home, it could get expensive. However Philips has heard the critics and has since announced the Hue Lightstrip Plus. Read full post →Philips Launches Hue Lightstrip Plus

LG G4 StylusIt would seem that the LG G4 Note will not be the only phone that LG has up their sleeves. According to a recent report, it seems that over in South Korea, LG has trademarked the names of at least two more devices called the LG G4 Graphy and the LG G4 Script. However apart from the names, not much is known about these devices.

However given that they do sport the “G4” moniker, there is a chance that they will be part of LG G4 family, or at least be some kind of variant. That being said, there are some who speculate that these devices, along with the LG G4 Note, could be handsets that sport styluses. We’re not sure about the “Graphy”, but the “Script” certainly elicits the image of a pen writing, which in turn could easily be a stylus. Read full post →LG Trademarks “G4 Graphy” And “G4 Script”

batman-arkham-knight-2A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Warner Bros. was getting ready to release an interim patch for the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. Based on what the patch was promised to deliver, it sounds as though it could finally address all the issues that many PC gamers had with the game upon its launch.

No date was given for the patch, but it seems that someone might have accidentally let it go live a bit earlier than expect. The patch has since been pulled, but there is some good news and that is gamers who were able to download the patch have reported that the patch is indeed everything that Warner Bros. had promised. dji phantom 3We suppose one of the fun aspects of owning a drone is that you get to pilot it around. However what if you wanted to do something else while the drone is filming? An autopilot mode in this case would be ideal, but oddly enough despite it being a feature of DJI’s cheaper Phantom 3 Standard, it was missing from the Advanced and Professional models, at least until now.

The drone maker has recently announced that come 7th of September, they will be releasing a firmware update for the Advanced and Professional Phantom 3 drones that will give it autopilot mode. There will be three different modes to choose from: waypoint navigation, point of interest, and Follow Me. Read full post →DJI Phantom 3 Drone To Get Autopilot Mode Next Week

lg g4 stylusAccording to the various rumors, leaks, and a recent trademark filing, it would seem that LG has a new phone in the works called the LG G4 Note. Now according to the latest rumors, it would seem that they are claiming that the LG G4 Note will feature a removable battery, which is something we’re sure many smartphone owners can get on board with.

A lot of phones these days tend to have fixed batteries, like what Samsung did with their latest flagship smartphones. Granted this results in a sleeker phone with less moving parts, but at the same time it also means that once your battery starts losing its ability to store its charge, either you’d have to fork out for an expensive repair, or buy a new phone. qualcomm snapdragonThe Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 should have been Qualcomm’s crowning achievement for 2015, and while it is a powerful SoC used by several flagship handsets, reports of it overheating have no doubt left a stain on Qualcomm’s reputation, so much so that some handset OEMs have opted for the more reliable Snapdragon 808, or in the case of Samsung opt to not use it entirely.

That being said, it seems that Qualcomm wants to put it all behind them and in a new post on their blog, the company has been extolling the virtues of its upcoming Snapdragon 820 SoC which is expected to make its way into devices come 2016. According to Qualcomm, they claim that the Snapdragon 820 will be twice as powerful and twice as energy efficient compared to its predecessor. Some of you guys might recall that in July, we reported on the Swiss Army Knife of travel jackets called the Baubax. Turns out that we weren’t the only ones enamored by its features because as it turns out, the Baubax is Kickstarter’s most funded clothing project to date. Heck, on Kickstarter’s website, Baubax is ranked fifth in terms of most funded projects overall.

This puts it behind the likes of Pebble Time which is ranked first, followed by the Coolest Cooler which ranks second, the original Pebble in third place, and the Exploding Kittens card game in fourth. That is a pretty impressive achievement, especially when you consider that the jacket is well, just a piece of clothing. Fancy downloading an entire movie in the span of 8 seconds? That is what the future could very well be, as the folks over at Verizon (yes, the company with the new logo) have just kicked off testing of an extremely fast 10 gigabit Internet service that will make use of the latest optical technology. If everything goes well for them, the future might see businesses and consumers being able to enjoy not only downloads, but also uploads with Internet speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps), and this is not the limit since there is still potential to increase this speed even further.
