fb gifIn a previous update to Facebook Messenger, Facebook allowed users to turn to third-party apps and services to do more activities with your friends instead of just chatting, and sending animated GIFs was one of them. However this process wasn’t always obvious but it seems that Facebook is trying something new out.

According to recent reports, it seems that Facebook is conducting an experiment with its users (and not in a bad way). There have been some Messenger users who are seeing the “GIF” option in their app (see screenshot to the right). This allows users to quickly choose from a pool of animated GIFs to which they can then send to their friends. Read full post →Facebook Messenger Experiment Lets You Share GIFs Easily

nintendo-wii-u-review-10The Nintendo NX will be the company’s next console and will presumably learn from the mistakes that Nintendo made with the Wii U. Given that one of the complaints developers had about the Wii U was that it wasn’t as powerful as the competition out there which made it hard to develop games for it.

However if the recent rumors are to be believed, Nintendo still has no intentions of competing on power. This is according to a recent tweet by Liam Robertson of Unseen64, who has in the past been accurate with his insider info, so maybe there might be some truth to his claims. According to his tweet, “The NX is definitely not aiming to compete with the likes of PS4 on a power level. Absolutely sure of that now.” Read full post →Nintendo NX Won’t Be As Powerful As The PS4 [Rumor]

bmw-hydrogen-fuel-cell-edrive-technology-27-1While electric cars seems to be the way of the future as far as creating more eco-friendly vehicles are concerned, there have been other methods explored in the past, like using hydrogen for example. maxfas-exoskeleton-doug-lafon-us-armyWhile the movies certainly makes it look easy when it comes to firing a gun, the reality is a bit different. There are other factors you have to take into consideration, like the weight and size of the gun, not to mention the recoil. There will also be issues like muscle tremors that could totally throw your aim off.

To help speed up the process of learning to fire a gun accurately, the US Army has developed a prototype exoskeleton which will help with that. Dubbed MAXFAS, this is an exoskeleton worn on the arm of the shooter (see image above). It is essentially a brace that can help correct any muscle tremors or involuntary arm shakes while you’re holding a gun. Read full post →US Army Develops Exoskeleton To Teach Soldiers How To Shoot

lego plasticWhen you think of Lego, you think of the brightly-colored plastic bricks which are fun to play with, but terrible if you step on them. Now we’re not sure how many of you guys have actually thought about this or realized this, but these plastic bricks are also not very good for the environment due to the fact that they are made from ABS, an oil-based plastic.

Well it looks like Lego has come to that realization as well which is why the company has recently announced their plans to invest $150 million to start creating more eco-friendly plastic bricks. However it should be noted that Lego’s investment is only expected to come to fruition by 2030, but we suppose it’s still a start. Read full post →Lego To Start Making More Eco-Friendly Bricks

Xperia_Z3__Copper_front_side.0When Sony announced the Xperia Z3+, it was quickly discovered that the handset was basically the international version of the Sony Xperia Z4. This meant that at some point in time, there is a chance that the handset could make its way stateside, but so far none of the major carriers in the country have announced their official support for it.

However the good news is that if you’re a fan of Sony’s smartphones and wouldn’t mind getting your hands on the device, you might be interested to learn that Amazon is carrying the handset and they have units in stock. Of course given that it is sold via Amazon, it means that you would essentially be buying the phone unlocked. Read full post →Sony Xperia Z3+ Now Available From Amazon

There have been a couple of Final Fantasy VII movies that have been made over the years, but given that Square Enix recently announced that they would be remaking Final Fantasy VII, could it be possible that maybe we might be treated to a new Final Fantasy VII movie in the future as well?

While we suppose anything can happen, in the meantime director Roth Rind and PermaGrin Films have put together a short video (see above) which is a concept for Final Fantasy VII: The Series which according to them, “This is an interpretation, not a translation. Final Fantasy VII: The Series is a proof of concept to show an alternative vision of a classic story and a love letter to of one of the greatest games of all time.” Read full post →Live-Action Final Fantasy VII Video Looks Downright Amazing

Unless you’re a connoisseur of cognac or have had a lot of experience drinking it in the past, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a bottle of the real stuff, versus the cheap stuff that someone is trying to pass off as an expensive bottle of the drink. Well it seems that cognac maker Rémy Martin doesn’t want its name tarnished, so much so that they have decided to embed an NFC chip inside of its bottle to help its customers identify if they are indeed purchasing the real deal.

The chip itself will be placed inside the cap of the bottle which according to the company, will allow the user to scan it with their phone since it is closer to the surface. From there the app will be able to tell the person if the bottle they bought is the real deal. In fact there is a mechanism inside that trips when the bottle is opened, so that the customer knows what the bottle has been opened before and that the drink could have been tampered with.
