Bluetooth+Mini+Beam+ProjectorMini-, or pico projectors as they are known, does occupy an extremely niche market to say the least, but somehow or rather, this particular portable accessory has not exactly gone the way of the dodo like the netbook, which is rather strange. LG has just announced that they will be shipping their PW700, or better known as the LG Bluetooth MiniBeam Projector, to European markets from September 2014 onward.

hp streamIt was just a couple of days ago when we talked about how hardware specifications of an alleged $199 Chromebook was spotted, but it does look as though this particular 14” HP Chromebook is not going to run on Chrome OS after all. At that price point, do expect to see this bad boy fly off the shelves in due time.

minecraft hddWhen it comes to the game of Minecraft, it is more of a case of either you get it, or you don’t. Those who fall into the latter category would be scratching at their heads, wondering just how one is able to spend hours on end in the world of Minecraft without really doing much, other than sniping skeletons, or perhaps hunt around for that additional diamond ore block – or so it seems on the surface. Who knows, one could actually be developing a complex piece of machinery in the game itself, such as this functional hard drive?

rapiscanIt looks like the full body scanner that airports employ in their security searches, where these are used to check for concealed weapons or bombs. It does give a sense of security for sure to the passengers, but apparently, research that has been conducted by a trio of universities discovered that the Rapiscan Secure 1000 was unable to detect stuff like knives, explosives and guns. Picking up the Rapiscan Secure 1000 on eBay, the inability for these sensors to discover such concealed weapons was due to the fact that some plumbers tape was used to hide them.

Store Front 2 640x480If you have used your credit card at a UPS Store between the 20th of January to the 11th of August 2014, there is a good chance that your credit/debit card details could have been stolen. This was announced by UPS who revealed that due to a malware identified in the company’s systems, customers who used their credit/debit cards at their locations during that period could have been exposed.

However UPS notes that there does not appear to have been any cases of fraud reported yet, meaning that for now customers appear to be safe, although given that your credit/debit card details could be floating out there exposed, you might want to get yourself some new cards, or at the very least check your statements very carefully to ensure that no suspicious activities appear. violent video games pollIn the past, we have heard arguments of how video games are bad for children as some have linked video games to violence. However recent studies have suggested otherwise, but now thanks to an even more recent study from the University of Texas (via VentureBeat), they have found that there could be a slight link between pre-teen gaming and depression.

However we should point out, like the researchers did themselves, that the study is far from complete and that additional study needs to be done, but based on their initial findings, the study did find some link between pre-teens who game and depression. It was found that preadolescent kids who gamed for more than two hours a day have showed signs of depression. Read full post →Slight Link Between Video Games And Depression In Pre-teens [Study]

williamsAs we’re sure most of you have heard by now, the great comedian and actor Robin Williams passed away not too long ago. Given that Williams had been known to play video games, fans had petitioned Blizzard to immortalize him in the World of Warcraft universe, to which Blizzard had agreed to.

Now thanks to the folks at Wowhead, it seems that they have datamined several character models which could be what Blizzard had planned for Williams. One of the character models is pictured above, which unsurprisingly is in the form of a genie (whose model already exists in the game), which was also one of the roles Williams was known for when he provided the voice talent to the genie in Aladdin.
