T-Mobile webConnect Rocket USB modem
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:50 AM PDT

T-Mobile's webConnect Rocket USB modem seems to be right on the money where its release date is concerned, although it would be extremely advisable to be in Philadelphia if you want to enjoy HSPA+ speeds. March 14 looks like a solid release date, where this $99 device with a two-year contract will cost you $50 for 5GB or $20 for 200MB per month, complete with a $0.20 per MB overage charge. So far, initial impressions have been rather favorable, with one achieving consistent download speeds that range from 1780Kbps to 2797Kbps.

Check out these cute looking app icon fridge magnets from Jailbreak Toys, where there are 18 different magnets to choose from, measuring 7/8? square and look set to turn your regular fridge into - yup, you've guessed it, an iFridge. Too bad they can't launch any programs when touched, and we can only think of this as $13 well spent to spruce up your home, making it a great gift for Apple evangelists.
Helium Bike Case
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:37 AM PDT

While bicycles have certainly come some way to being more and more portable, making it a snap to tote around while you take advantage of the city's public transport system, there is always a better way to do things. Case in point, the Helium Bike Case which can be opened 360° to pack your bike’s frame, a couple of sets of wheels as well as various accessories including a helmet, shoes and pump without missing a beat. Compatible with road bikes up to 64cm size or a full-suspension freeride mountain bike, the secret behind the Helium Bike Case would be its network of inflatable partitions which are strategically positioned on either side of the frame to offer better stability and protection without weighing you down compared to other systems. Heck, it even comes with wheels to help you bring this around wherever you go. No idea on pricing as at press time.

Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:33 AM PDT

Asus has recently announced that they will be updating the Eee PC 1005PE by introducing a more visually pleasing matte lid on the device, which makes the update a purely cosmetic one since everything else inside remains the same. If you're interested in a better looking Eee PC 1005PE, then you might as well drop $389.99 for one at Amazon.
Starlight Skirt
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:32 AM PDT

Shannon Henry literally took things into her own hands, turning a hand-sewn tulle wrap skirt into a star light sparkling evening gown. This was made possible by integrating fiber optics and lights which will change color according to the speed and direction of the wearer’s movement - guess it would make for a really groovy ballroom gown! The starlight skirt's center holds a LilyPad which will translate the motion sensors' input into various colors on the stars placed throughout the skirt, resulting in a dynamic light pattern. We wonder when will the haute couture houses pick up on such visionary designs.
Crazy Foot Magic Cube
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:31 AM PDT

The Rubik's Cube was enough to drive some folks mad back in its day, but what about the Crazy Foot Magic Cube? Judging by its name alone, this unique puzzler requires your feet to solve it, since it it large and smooth enough to do so, testing your levels of endurance, IQ and EQ at the same time. Guess we now know what Hobbits love to do during their free time. We would say that if you suffer from a particularly bad case of smelly feet, it would be advisable to give the $17 Crazy Foot Magic Cube a pass.
Big Bang Sword Cane
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:30 AM PDT

If you want grandpa to look less frail when taking his daily walks, why not check out the Big Bang Sword Cane and get it for him? After all, this 33.5" cane comes with a magnetic compass to guide him home, not to mention a stainless steel sword sheathed inside the cane itself that offers some degree of protection (and intimidation) against folks with a bad intention. We're not too sure whether individual state laws do prohibit this $29.88 item as it could be considered to be a dangerous weapon.

Play Hello has up to 10 hours of playback time, and we don't see anyone else other than Hello Kitty collectors as well as fans of the franchise picking this up.

Dell Mini 5 could be known as Streak
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:26 AM PDT

Dell's Mini 5 device could very well be marketed under a new moniker, Streak, according to a leaked ad that appeared (where else) online. It seems that the Streak will come in a, well, streak of colors including blue, pink, red, and a greyish black option. Chances are one will be able to customize the back of the device according to a design of your choice, so third party manufacturers will definitely rub their hands in glee. Just to recap, the Dell Streak features a lovely 5" display, a front facing VGA camera, a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 30-pin dock connector.
LG shows off new phones in the Netherlands
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:25 AM PDT

LG decided to take a Dutch holiday and showcase a bunch of new handsets at the Netherlands, where they are the LG Cookie Music KM570 (as pictured), LG Pure, LG GT405, LG KS365 and LG Jacquar 5. The LG Cookie Music does resemble the Rogers-bound LG KM555 a whole lot, although it has more advanced features such as a 5-megapixel camera, 4GB of internal memory, Dolby Mobile technology, HSDPA connectivity and a 3.5mm headset jack. As for the touchscreen-capable LG GT405, this model sports HSDPA connectivity, 3D S-Class UI, stereo FM radio and a 5-megapixel camera. The slider LG Pure is pretty much the same as the LG GT405, although it misses out on the touchscreen display and comes in a different form factor. As for the LG KS365, this model seems to be a redesigned version of the LG KS360. The LG Jacquar 5 might sound phonetically luxurious, but this simple candybar is equipped with a VGA camera and other basic media features. Which of these do you like best?
Lace-amatic makes for easy tying
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:24 AM PDT

We do wonder what the whole point of shoelaces was for, but then again that was before Velcro was invented. Folks who prefer shoelaces but lack the dexterity, flexibility or strength to handle it might want to check out the Lace-amatic. It enables you to tighten and loosen tied shoelaces, making removal of knotted shoes a snap. With the Lace-amatic, you can slip in and out of laced-up shoes without having to struggle with how tight the laces and knots are. Heck, you can even use a single foot to undo or loosen your sneakers on the go.
Asus Eee PC to expand category further
Posted on Mar 11 2010 at 07:23 AM PDT

Asus is certainly milking its Eee PC brand for all it is worth, throwing in a couple more lines for you to consider before you part with your hard earned money the next time round. We're talking about the Eee Pc Diary and the Eee PC Prime, where the former will be a bunch of netbooks that target folks who are always on-the-go (isn't that who netbooks are meant for in the first place, anyway?), boasting a long battery life with a stronger focus on reliability and mobile connections. As for the Eee PC Prime, it is not a secret Autobot ready to save the world from the clutches of the Decepticons, but will be a high-end Eee PC instead. As for the Eee PC Seashell line, well, that's a bunch of affordable Eee PCs.
