ASUS PadFone Infinity US Launch Could Be Announced At Computex 2013ASUS has been releasing a pretty steady stream of decent products, and if you were hoping to pick up the PadFone Infinity in the US, you might be able to do so soon. While ASUS has yet to make an official announcement of sorts, in response to a customer asking questions regarding the device’s 4G LTE capabilities, an ASUS rep might have accidentally let the cat out of the bag regarding a US launch. A customer asked when ASUS might be developing a US version, and in response the ASUS rep replied by saying that it was a “mystery”, although one might be able to expect more news at Computex 2013 which is pretty much around the corner.

For those unfamiliar with the device, the ASUS PadFone Infinity will sport a 5” Full HD 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, a 2,400mAh battery with the tablet add-on adding an additional 5,000mAh battery, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running the show. As it stands you can get the PadFone Infinity unofficially in the US, although it will set you back a whopping $950 for just the phone only.

Microsoft and their allies, Nokia, have not been shy at taking pot shots at their competitors, and in the latest Windows 8 ad, Microsoft seems to have taken Siri and turned it against Apple’s very own iPad! Basically the idea behind the ad was to show off what Windows 8 tablets can do, versus the iPad where we can hear Siri protest at how it can only do one thing at a time, a not-so-subtle jab at iOS’ inability to perform true multitasking. The video also seems to bring back some memories from 2012 when Apple first introduced the iPad mini and compared it against the regular iPad, both of which were used to play a rendition of Heart and Soul, versus the new Microsoft ad which basically has the user playing a rather simple song of Chopsticks. In any case if you’ve got a minute to spare, check it out in the video above.

MSI GT70 Dragon Edition 2 Laptop Could Feature New Intel Haswell ChipWhile I personally prefer to do my gaming on a desktop, there are some who prefer taking their gaming on the go with gaming laptops. Well if you’re in the market for a gaming laptop, MSI might have a laptop for you, and even better news is that it will most likely run on Intel’s new Haswell chipset. According to the folks at CNET, the MSI GT70 Dragon Edition 2 is expected to pack a new Intel Haswell chip along with a mysterious NVIDIA GTX780M GPU which according to the reports, will be able to deliver a 3DMark Vantage benchmark score of 36,000 which is supposedly the kind of score you can find from a desktop GPU like the GTX670. Other specs of the MSI GT70 Dragon Edition 2 laptop include a SteelSeries-branded keyboard, multiple SSDs, three video outputs, all of which are packed into a 2.9kg package. No word on pricing or the rest of the specs yet, but MSI is expected to share more details at Computex, so if the MSI GT70 is a gaming laptop you’d like to get your hands on, check back with us during Computex 2013 for the details!

Apples iWatch Rumored For 2014 ReleaseThe existence of Apple’s alleged iWatch device remains unknown at this point in time, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from making their rounds, and if you were hoping to see such a device in 2013, think again. According to KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who has had a pretty decent track record when it comes to Apple rumors and such, the earliest we might be able to see the alleged iWatch is only in 2014. So what’s the hold up, you ask?

Well according to Kuo, Apple might be finding it a bit hard to get enough resources to make an iOS version that will play nicely with the new form factor of the iWatch’s alleged 1.5” display. Considering that previous rumors had suggested that Apple is pulling members from the OS X team to help with iOS 7, we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple really couldn’t spare the manpower for another team to help shrink iOS down to fit on the device. Kuo also seems to believe that Apple will be modeling the first iWatch off the iPod nano design, which does make sense when it comes to watch sizes, is a bit disappointing as we might have expected something a little more different. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us later for more updates.

Blackberry 10 Porsche P9881 ConceptThe Blackberry Bold 9900 and the Q10 both feature rounded edges as part of its design, although with the Porsche P’9881, the rounded edges were done away in favor of sharp and sleek lines instead. The Porsche P’9881 was essentially the Bold 9900 with a different body, and if you loved that design and were wondering if Blackberry and Porsche might team up for a Blackberry 10 device, well we guess you will just have to wait and see, but in the meantime CrackBerry forum member, DYLANHABKIRK, has managed to cook up a render of what a Blackberry 10 device with the Porsche P’9881 design might look like. As you can see, the concept does away with the physical navigation buttons at the top in favor of a larger display, and what looks like Blackberry 10 running in the background. It’s not too shabby and to be honest it looks pretty good – what do you guys think? Yay or nay on a Porsche Blackberry 10 device?

Alleged Panasonic Lumix GX2 Specs LeakedIf you’re in the market for a new camera, Panasonic might have something for you in the form of the Lumix GX2, the successor to the company’s Lumix GX1. While we’re not sure when Panasonic plans to launch the Lumix GX2, the folks at Digicame-info have managed to get their hands on what appears to be some leaked specifications of the upcoming device. These aren’t the complete specs, nor are we sure if these are even the right specs, but for now they are all we have to work with. According to the specs, the GX2 is expected to sport a tiltable built-in viewfinder with a fast shutter speed of 1/8000s. It will sport a new 18MP image sensor and will come with image stabilization capabilities. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now and be sure to check back with us down the road for more updates!

Sony Honami To Sport 2/3 Sensor With RX100s Manual Controls [Rumor]Back in the day of the feature phone, Sony made a name for themselves by releasing phones with the Cyber-Shot branding, indicating that the phone came with a pretty exceptional camera. Considering that cameras on phones then left a lot to be desired, this was a pretty big deal. Now rumor has it that Sony might be looking to start that up again with the rumored device, Honami, which apparently is Sony’s take of the Cyber-Shot phones except that it runs on Android.

While we’re not sure when the Sony H2 will be released, word from the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors is that the camera on the phone is expected to sport a 2/3” image sensor with xenon flash, Cyber-Shot branding (no surprises there), and even come with manual controls like the Sony RX100! We’re not sure if we’re talking physical manual controls, like dials and what not, or software features, but either way with the RX100 being a high-end camera, this is pretty big news. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but for phone photography enthusiast, are you excited?

Canon EOS 70D Rumored For July LaunchCanon’s EOS 50D and 60D while being pretty decent cameras, are set at mid-ranged level, leaving devices like the EOS 5D and its generations for the higher-end market. If you think that you only need a mid-ranged camera for now and you want something a little newer, rumor has it that Canon is getting the EOS 70D prepared for a launch, with some speculating that the camera could even be launched in July.

This is according to the folks at Canon Rumors who have gotten word that the EOS 70D is apparently in its final testing stage and is in the hands of some “Explorers of Light”, which we presume are select photographers who are going about taking photos to show off what the EOS 70D can do. Apparently Canon is also in the middle of production for some commercials for the EOS 70D, so assuming all of this is true, a launch in July would seem plausible. Until then take it with a grain of salt.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Achieves 10 Million MilestoneLast week we reported that Samsung could very well break their own record and go off and move 10 million Samsung Galaxy S4 units by this week, and sure enough they have. Well it looks like the South Korean company has done it again as it is now official: Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S4 has managed to hit the 10 million milestone, beating out its predecessors since it managed to achieve those numbers in just about a month. To give it some context, the Galaxy S3 only achieved the 10 million milestone after 50 days, which we guess is pretty impressive, but for Samsung to shave 20 days off with the Galaxy S4, that’s even more impressive! With that being said, we have to wonder come 2014 and with the possible release of the Galaxy S4’s successor, how fast do you think Samsung will need to move 10 million units of that?

Sony Xperia Tablet Z Review
We bought the Sony Xperia Tablet Z two weeks ago while we were in Tokyo at the Ginza Sony Store, because we could not wait any longer to get one in our hands. The first thing that surprised us when we held the Sony Xperia tablet Z is its beautiful thin and light form factor.

For one, it is really comfortable to read for hours holding a 10-inch tablet, in comparison, the iPad feels heavy and it becomes tiring after a few hours of reading. In fact, the Xperia Tablet Z is the perfect device to read books and watch video while you are in your bath: just like the Xperia Z smartphone which launched earlier this year in Europe and Japan, the tablet is water and dust resistant. You can check the hilarious Chinese video showing someone cooking a soup with the Xperia tablet Z in it, and the device still works after that treatment…
