jhu ebolaThe battle against ebola is a long one, and there have been casualties on the side of the light. Doctors, nurses, soldiers, and other first responders who are doing their utmost back to stem the tide of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa happen to wear protective suits, and while doing so would greatly minimize their exposure to the deadly virus while working among the infected, it is touted to be too hot to wear in the tropics, and more often than not also ends up as a source of contagion when such suits are being removed. Johns Hopkins University alongside international health affiliate Jhpiego and various other partners intend to make the fight against Ebola safer, resulting in a new anti-contamination suit which will cater for healthcare workers. This new suit is not only easier to remove, it is also a whole lot cooler than its predecessor.

Our smartphone camera apps helps us take photos, and in the case of more advanced apps, it gives us manual controls by allowing us to tweak its settings like exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and so on. However it seems that camera apps could potentially have other uses that we might not have thought of, like helping autistic kids overcome social anxiety.

Samsung has recently come up with an app called “Look At Me”. This is an app designed by Samsung which they claim will help autistic kids overcome their social anxiety and have better eye contact and relations with those around them. Basically the app will be an interactive and playful one that lets its user, the autistic child, get more out of it than they would from a regular app. Read full post →Samsung’s Look At Me Camera App To Aid Autistic Children’s Development

htc one review m8 labshot 12 640x359We have been hearing a fair bit of rumors regarding the HTC Hima, the alleged successor to the HTC One M8. Well if you’re looking for more confirmation of its hardware specs, Upleaks has recently posted a bunch of specs of the handset which more or less confirms what we have already known so far.

Of course all of this is just rumor and speculation for now, but hopefully the actual handset doesn’t stray too far from the rumored specs as it certainly sounds pretty good. The HTC Hima is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch Full HD display, a 20.7MP rear-facing camera, and interestingly enough Upleaks has suggested we could be looking at a 13MP front-facing camera or a 4MP UltraPixel front camera instead. macbook air 2013 3 800x270 640x216As it stands Apple has MacBook Air laptops that come in 11-inch or 13-inch sizes, both of which are extremely portable, but we guess for those who would prefer a happy middle, like a 12-inch MacBook Air, you might have heard the rumors that such a computer could be in the works. This is according to a report from DigiTimes which claims that production of the laptop is expected to begin in the early part of the year. kodakKodak is probably a name that most of you guys would associate with imaging products, like cameras, film, and we guess to a certain extent even photo printers. They are not necessarily a brand that one would associate with mobile devices, but it looks like that could change soon. The company has recently announced a partnership with the Bullitt Group where both companies will work together to showcase new Android devices at CES 2015.

Unfortunately at this point in time save for the announcement itself, not much is known about Kodak and Bullitt’s upcoming products. However according to a statement made by Oliver Schulte, the CEO of Bullitt Mobile, “Kodak is one of the world’s most recognisable brands. It is trusted by consumers as a marque of quality and innovation. We’ve taken that heritage and used it to inspire a range of beautifully designed devices that will let users take great pictures and edit, share, store and print them in an instant.” Read full post →Kodak To Unveil Android Devices At CES 2015
