bt-500mbpsWhile the FCC has officially determined that the definition of broadband internet in the U.S. would require a minimum download speed of 25Mpbs and a minimum upload speed of 3Mbps, here we are with BT, the largest internet service provider in the UK, who intends to deliver what they deem to be ‘ultrafast’ speeds across the entire country. Home users will be pleased to know that the existing BT Infinity 2 fibre connections are capable of delivering speeds of up to 76Mbps, and rival Virgin Media is ahead of the pack with speeds of up to 152Mbps. BT intends to take the position of top dog eventually, citing that it is capable of delivering “ultrafast speeds of up to 500Mbps to most of the UK within a decade.”

windows-10-surfaceIt goes without saying that any operating system, no matter how well thought out it is, will still come with some issues to fix, minor or otherwise. After all, there is no such thing as an unbreakable code, and hence, it is not surprising to hear that preview versions of Windows 10 do arrive with their very own set of bugs, issues and problems. Having said that, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 graphics driver for Windows 10 has just been updated, and this means installing the latest update ought to spell the end of video playback issues and resolve some other bugs along the way.

redmi-note2-leakTENAA, the Chinese agency which is said to be the equivalent of the FCC over here in the US, has already listed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, which is a new generation smartphone – except for the fact that this is but an incremental update, and not a major one. What you will get with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, however, would be a 5.5” display at 720p resolution, and we do not have any idea as to what kind of chipset this particular model would run on. However, it does come with a quad-core CPU that has been rated at 1.2GHz, which would most probably point in the direction of a Snapdragon 410. This is a new smartphone that will boast of 1GB RAM as well as 8GB of internal memory which you can further expand by another 32GB using a microSD memory card.

xcover3Samsung is well known for rolling out a whole lot of different smartphones from time to time, so much so that they will be able to cater to a very different crowd. Well, it seems that the Galaxy S range has been seeing plenty of action over the years, but the lesser well known Xcover family has not been updated in a good two years – with the most recent Galaxy Xcover 2 having launched in January 2013. Thankfully, for those who had hoped to see some progress, it seems as though the spanking new Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is about to roll out – where it carries the model number SM-G388F, although the hardware underneath the hood does seem to remain within the average band as usual.

canon 5dsWith the Canon 5D MK II being discontinued, Canon launched the 5D MK III, but even then that was almost three years ago which means that it probably wouldn’t come as a complete shock if Canon had a newer 5D camera in the works. In fact thanks to recently leaked specs and an image from Digicame-Info (via Canon Watch), we could be getting our first look at the new Canon DSLR.

The camera, if the rumors and image are to be believed, will not be called the Canon 5D MK IV. Instead the camera will be known as the Canon 5Ds and there will also be a variant called the Canon 5Ds R. Unless these are cameras are going to be part of a new lineup, it is safe to assume that they will be the successor to the 5D MK III. Read full post →Alleged Canon 5Ds Photos And Specs Leaked

lg-g3-phone-015The LG G3 was one of the first mainstream branded Android phones to make it onto the market with a QHD display which was actually pretty impressive. It also set the tone for phones that were released after it which we saw happen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Google Nexus 6, so could LG be looking to set a new standard with the LG G4?

According to MyLGPhones, they were sent in a tip by one of their tipsters who pointed them at the LG User Agent Profile. moto-g-2014-review-2So now that Lenovo officially owns Motorola Mobility, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that they would try to shift some of Motorola’s efforts over to China, but hopefully Lenovo recognizes that not only is China a potentially huge market for Motorola, but that they not forget that India is just as big.

According to a recent report from The Economic Times of India, it seems that Motorola is doing pretty well for themselves in the country as they have managed to sell 3 million smartphones since February 2014 last year. Does that come as a surprise? Hardly. You might recall that last year that the Moto G and the Moto E helped Motorola steal market share from Nokia. nokia 8210Remember back in the day of the feature phone where Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS were considered luxuries? Nowadays just about every smartphone has such features and to not have these features would certainly raise a couple of eyebrows. However while most of us would turn our noses at these feature phones, there is a market out there for such devices – the drug dealing market.

In a recent story run by Vice, it turns out that phone of choice for drug dealers is none other than the Nokia 8210 feature phone. Of course back in the day, the Nokia 8210 was considered one of the more premium devices as it was compact and extremely thin, but now it looks like it has relegated itself to being a drug dealer’s phone of choice.
