Garmin Foretrex 401

Garmin is preparing itself to release another GPS navigation device known as the Garmin Foretrex 401. The final prototype that was unveiled to selected quarters managed to impress with its specifications, being approximately 20% smaller than the original 201 despite retaining a similarly-sized display. Other features include a 2-axis digital compass, barometric altimeter and an USB 2.0 port for easy connectivity to a computer when performing data sharing and updates. The Foretrex 401 goes one up with a Jumpmaster function that caters for static, HAHO and HALO jumping, boasting options for forward throw, windspeeds at altitude and HARP that help you navigate to the landing zone in safety. A couple of AAA batteries is able to offer up to 24 hours of usage, and the best part is, the Garmin Foretrex 401 will retail for just $250 when it is released later this June 16th. [via Gearscout]
