Is there nothing the iPhone cannot do? Guess all we need to do is wait for some boffins to come up with a clever algorithm that helps trace down extra-terrestrial life successfully using a network of iPhones, years after the SETI home computer network project has failed to yield a notable result. After all, if the iPhone can already be used to control a Mazda RX-8, why not? Jonathan Oxer is the brains behind this project, where the iPhone will connect to a computer within the vehicle, which in turn is hooked up to the Internet via a separate connection. This setup allows the user to perform tasks such as opening doors, starting the engine, monitoring relevant statistics and even see where the vehicle is located via Google Maps. A surefire way to impress that first date of yours.
