LiMo-powered Samsung coming soon

Word has it that Vodafone is currently working to roll out a new high end Samsung handset which will be powered by a LiMo-based operating system. There is no name attached to this rumored Samsung handset just yet, but we’re thinking it might possibly be the Samsung Riedel i8305 that picked up a Wi-Fi Interoperability Certificate recently. If that is the case, then the Riedel’s known specifications would comprise of a widescreen AMOLED touch display with haptic feedback, an 8-megapixel camera and support for “Vodafone People” – an upcoming service created after the acquisition of Zyb by Vodafone. This service helps merge popular social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter, making them easily accessible over the handset. Whispers also abound that the Riedel will be announced in London this September 24th – we’ll see how it goes then.
