AT&T looks like it’s trying to do its bit for the environment, as it’s offering the AT&T Zero Charger, which aims to help you eliminate wasted electricity. It does so by sensing when a cell phone is not plugged into a charger, and will cut off the power supply from the wall socket when there is no phone detected. By doing so, it will help cut out the vampire draw, which basically is what happens when AC adapters suck juice from your wall socket even when there isn’t any device to power. Aside from that the Zero Charger also aims to improve charging efficiency when charging a device.
