Kensington Announces Laptop Locking Station

The folks over at Kensington have come up with a rather interesting solution to help you prevent your laptop from being stolen. Instead of having to use the security lock slot on your laptop, users just have to place the laptop in front of the Laptop Locking Station and squeeze the lock’s arm shut, which will keep your laptop firmly locked in place. To release, users just have to unlock it from the side. This locking station uses a steel backbone and deflector plates to prevent cutting or prying, while still allowing the arm to swing around the base, so your laptop can rotate, as well as slide and tilt. The base is usually permanently attached to the desk, but it can also be fastened using a non-destructive tether kit. The Laptop Locking Station is currently up for pre-order at $80, and will suit any laptop that sports a display between 13.3 to 17-inches. Check out a video of this item in action after the jump.
