Seagate GoFlex Home Announced

Seagate has been steadily releasing new products, and this new GoFlex Home is for regular folks with an appetite for storage. Available in 1TB or 2TB, it connects via a local network with Windows, Mac computers (Time Machine compatible) or DLNA devices like the PS3. It can act like a media file server where photos, music and movies can be streamed from, and be used like a backup place for home computers.

GoFlex Home’s storage can grow overtime by changing the drive module and by adding another disk via the USB port (maybe you could even daisy-chain them?). You can also do both at the same time and if while you’re not extending the disk capacity, you can use the USB port to share a printer. If you own a iPhone/iPad or Blackberry, there is an optional service that will let you access you data on the go.
