A 4G Wi-Fi modem from Clear has been approved by the FCC today, dubbed the Clear Modem with Wi-Fi and bearing the model number WIXFBR-117. The device is manufactured by Gemtek and will support Wi-Fi b/g/n and data transfer rates of up to 150Mbps. Connectivity ports include an Ethernet port and what appears to be a VoIP phone port. This device will be the first Wi-Fi modem designed for home use from Clear, as the company’s current offerings only support wired Ethernet connections, aside from the portable Clear Spot Wi-Fi hotspots.
