Nikon Speedlight SB-700 is now official

Remember rumors about the Nikon Speedlight SB-700 that we spotted last week? Well, the device is now made official, where compact is the operative keyword here, being a compact Speedlight model that does not scrimp on features since it delivers multiple functions in a simple operational manner. The SB-700 will take off where the SB-900 left off in terms of functions, albeit coming in a form factor that is more similar to that of the SB-600. Being beginner friendly, the SB-700 is more than ready to help Nikon digital-SLR camera owners capture that perfect moment. Features include wireless lighting capability, the ability to automatically detect and control increases in the temperature of the flash head, automatic detection and identification of dedicated hard color filters, a high-speed recycling time of approximately 2.5 seconds, and automatic switching between FX and DX formats among others. We still do not have details on its pricing though. [Press Release]
