Sony CMT-L7D Walkman dock does more than just park your Walkman

Sony’s latest CMT-L7D Walkman dock delivers more than what its name suggests, as it comes with a rather generous 9-inch LCD display alongside 100W output that ought to deliver some much needed punch to the feeble MP3 format. It can also handle DVDs just in case you have a pretty hefty collection of the now aged video format, while doubling up as a digital photo frame with several transition effects for added “wow” factor. Of course, the CMT-L7D can also function as a high end clock or calendar if you want to use it as that. Features include USB support, an SD memory card slot, Memory Stick support, as well as MP3, WMA and AAC file format compatibility. Too bad the 9-inches of LCD real estate was not maximized to feature touchscreen capability – that would surely have made it a huge plus point in our books. Expect Sony to roll this puppy out in October for around $600.
