The super cheap Indian tablet that the government of India is claiming to have been home grown by top university minds may not be in fact true. Indian website AndroidOS is saying that the tablet is actually a re-badged tablet that was actually made in China by HiVision and was originally demoed at CeBIT this year. The top picture shows the HiVision SpeedPad on the right hand side and India’s claim of its originally designed $35 tablet on the left, quickly dropping the credibility of the Indian government. Then again, Google’s saying Android is not tablet-ready yet, so perhaps no loss to anyone involved.
