MSI’s latest effort in the gaming industry would come in the form of the N580GTX Lighting Xtreme Edition (N580GTX Lighting XE for short), where you will notice something new with it – a propeller blade fan that has a “Smart Temp Sensor” and “Dust Removal” technology, in addition to supporting Afterburner’s latest “Triple Temp Monitor” feature. These, as you can tell by the names themselves, will do their part to make sure the N580GTX Lighting XE will work in its optimal setting without missing a beat, not to mention the presence of less dust would always prolong the life of electronics.

The MSI N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition has also been touted to be the most powerful graphics card at the moment, sporting a massive 3GB of graphics memory and Twin Frozr III cooling. When you combine that with Power4 Architecture power supply and extreme overclocking design features that are special to the Lightning series, you have more or less the king-of-the-hill model.

Smart Temp Sensor works by changing the fan’s special coating to white from blue whenever temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius, letting you know that it might be too hot – and to perform a system cooling status check, pronto! As for Dust Removal, whenever you turn on your system, the graphics card fan will rotate in the opposite direction for half a minute to further remove dust from the heatsink fins so that optimal cooling is achieved.
