Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D

If you were looking forward to get your hands on Metal Gear Solid 3D for your Nintendo 3DS this year we’ve got some bad news for you. It has been reported by Kotaku that the game will suffer a delayed launch in the US and Europe. The game which was scheduled to arrive later this year has been pushed back all the way to 2012 instead.

There was no reason given for the postponement and besides the vague 2012 date, nothing more specific has been revealed. However, the game will still hit the shelves in Q4 2011 for folks in Japan, so you’ll probably need to get a Japanese Nintendo 3DS along with the game imported from the Far East (or pack your bags for Japan) if you intend to play it this year.

Anybody MSG/3DS fans disappointed by this delay?

Update (9.54AM PT): It looks like the delay might only be for Europe and Australia. Kotaku is getting confirmation on the ETA for the US. The Konami website still lists Snake Eater 3D as “coming this winter” so there’s a chance it might not be delayed in the US. We’ll keep you posted.
