Cult classic film The Big Lebowski is now available for rent over at Facebook, as it was made available on the social networking giant’s site in conjunction with the film’s release on the Blu-ray format. This comedy can be rented directly from The Big Lebowski Facebook fan page if you’re interested. This is rather interesting – with more than 750 million users on Facebook, it is proving to be a rather formidable movie rental platform, and you know just how viral sometimes things can get whenever you talk about something on your Wall, only to have your group of friends investigate just what your next favorite movie is.

This isn’t the first movie that can be rented on Facebook, as Paramount Pictures delivered the Jackass film series to Facebook recently, while Warner Bros. continues to work on increasing the number of title availability over at the social network. Universal Pictures takes the slightly more creative approach with this by providing fans with a way to interact as well as share their favorite parts of the film online.

Not only that, you can reward up to five friends with a $1 discount on the Facebook rental. It will cost you 30 Facebook Credits (the equivalent of $3) for a 48-hour long rental.
