At the IFA 2011 event, Dell unveiled its lightweight XPS 14z laptop but there was no mention of when it would be going on sale. Well, it’s been reported that Dell has announced the laptop will be available in “the coming weeks” which means it should be sometime in October. The XPS 14z will feature the same industrial design of the XPS 15z and will measure 13.19 x 9.21 x 0.9 inches – yes, that’s less than an inch thick for you folks who like their laptops like magazines.
The Dell XPS 14z will pack a 14″ LG Shuriken display, a Core i5-2430M or Core i7-2640 CPU, NVIDIA Optimus graphics, a slot-loading optical drive (some people still use discs after all), USB 3.0, and a weight of 4.36 (depending on what you add/remove during customization). Still no word on pricing but expect more details to be released in the near future.
