Google+ users hit 50 million mark In just less than a week after Google opened up the doors of their own social network, Google+, to the world, it seems that the growth has proved to be phenomenal. According to Paul Allen (unofficial statistician for Google+), Google+ has already achieved the 50 million user mark. Sure, it might pale in comparison to Facebook’s figure that stands more than 15 times the number, but see how fast it took for Google+ to arrive there compared to Facebook – Google+ took just 88 days, while Facebook plodded along for 1,325 days.

Talk about having an explosive start off the blocks! Here is to your next 50 million, Google+! Are you on Google+ already, and if no, why not?

Google: Google is an Internet Search company with profits mainly derived from its AdWords advertising program. Google is also known for other high-profile web-related products such as Chrome, GMail, Google Docs or Google Map, and it has also made a very successful entry into the mobile handset market with its Android mobile operating system. Google+: or Google Plus, or G+, is a social network and identity service from Google. The service has started as a closed beta in June of 2011. G+ features "Circles", which is a convenient way to group contacts and "Hangouts", which are virtual places where people users can gather in the form of a webcast. Many consider Hangouts to be an alternative to paid multi-party video conferencing services.
