Last year, musician 50 Cent teamed up with Sleek Audio to produce a line of headphones with his company, SMS Audio. Unfortunately the deal fell through, but it seems that 50 Cent’s SMS Audio decided to pick up the project and continue with it. Thanks to their efforts, for those looking for yet another celebrity-endorsed headphones, 50 Cent’s Sync by 50 headphones is said to be released soon.
The headphones will feature full on-board playback controls, with each can housing a 40mm driver that has been padded with memory foam cushion. The kicker here is that these headphones will come in a wireless version, with the 3.5mm wireless adapter said to be able to broadcast the signal up to 50 feet and apparently allows for four simultaneous wireless connections.
It will also come with a detachable wired cable should you decide not to go the wireless route. The headphones also charge via micro USB should you run out of juice mid-listen. Unfortunately no word on pricing or availability, but given the price that the Beats by Dre headphone series is commanding, and the fact that there seems to be a demand for it, it is safe to say that you should not expect Sync by 50 to come cheap either.
