Sensics SmartGogglesAndroid can be used to power pretty much everything – from in-car entertainment systems, to watches, and now it looks like manufacturers have found a new use for the operating system: smart goggles. Sensics recently released a teaser video of an upcoming gadget, the Sensics SmartGoggles: a helmet/goggle that features an onboard heads up display (HUD) that is powered by the Android operating system.

The SmartGoggles will feature its own processor and memory and is also touted to feature a glasses-free (ironic isn’t it?) 3D display that is similar to the Nintendo 3DS. With the SmartGoggles, users can experience watching movies and playing games on a whole new level. In addition to entertainment purposes, the goggles can also function as a way to experience Augmented Reality apps by overlaying information over whatever is in front of you.

Not a lot of details have been revealed at the moment, but Sensics will be at CES 2012, so stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, check out the teaser video of the Sensics SmartGoggles:
