As the USB 3.0 standard is starting to make its way into our desktop and notebooks, we guess the emergence of more USB 3.0 compatible flash drives is expected. Looking to add to that list of USB 3.0 capable flash drives would be Transcend with their new Jetflash 780 flash drives that will come in either 8GB or 16GB storage sizes.

With the 8GB model, users can expect read/write speeds of up to 100/20Mbps, while the 16GB model will feature 140/40Mbps read/write speeds instead. Apart from its speedy USB 3.0 transfer speeds, the Transcend Jetflash 780 will also sport an interesting checkerboard design and will measure in at 70mm x 21mm x 8.1mm and will weigh a mere 7grams.

If you’re interested in picking up one for yourself, expect the Transcend Jetflash 780 8GB model to set you back €15 (~$19), while the 16GB model will go for €25 (~$32). At the moment it seems that the flash drives are available in Europe and no word if and when Transcend will start making them available for the rest of the world.
