There is still much of the world that has yet to be explored – so much so that many other languages remain undiscovered by the civilized world. It is said that thousands of languages out there are tipped to end up as extinct simple because there are so few people who actually use them in their conversation, and efforts must be made to preserve such languages from being wiped out completely. One of the efforts would include a digital “talking dictionary”, where it was specially designed to conserve the sound of the disappearing words as well as their meanings. Of course, what you see on the right is the poster of the movie, The Sleeping Dictionary, which is a slightly different variant since the “dictionary” is a living, breathing person instead (and looking rather luscious while at it).

At the moment, it is said that linguists have leveraged tools like Facebook as well as other forms of digital technology in order to preserve whatever languages there are left in the world, where over 3,500 languages might eventually disappear completely by the time 2100 rolls around – assuming there is still an earth left, of course, and we humans do not end up nuking one another by then.
