Apple has just announced that they have already made available the latest version of their Safari web browser, bumping the version number up to Safari 5.1.4 for Windows as well as Mac. Of course, any software update will definitely bring a slew of new improvements, and the same can be said of Safari 5.1.4, where it will comprise of multiple speed and stability improvements, including fixing the rather annoying glitch where web pages will flash white whenever one makes a switch between tabs. The update itself can be downloaded over the Software Update. Other improvements include better JavaScript performance, improved responsiveness when typing into the search field after changing network configurations or with an intermittent network connection, preserve links in PDFs saved from webpages, and improved stability, compatibility and startup time when using extensions among others. It will be 44.71 MB in size for OS X Lion, so it should not take too long to download it over to your computer using a broadband connection.
