OnLive Desktop AndroidOnLive launched its OnLive Desktop app for the iPad earlier this year with the promise of an Android version in the near future, and it looks like the day has finally arrived. OnLive announced that the OnLive Desktop app is now available for Android devices. For those not in the know, OnLive Desktop brings the whole desktop computer experience to your tablet. First of all, it’s not like SplashTop where you remotely control your computer from the tablet – you run an instance of Windows 7 through OnLive (just like how you would run a game with its service).

OnLive Desktop will give you access to Windows apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Reader with 2GB of cloud storage for free – great for folks who need to work while on the move with a tablet and prefer using Microsoft Office as opposed to third party alternatives. OnLive Desktop is available now, just head over to OnLive’s website to see if your tablet is compatible, and the Android Market to download the app.
