Photographers, if you were in the market for a new set of lens, particularly those in the wide-angle category, you might be interested to learn that Nikon has recently announced the Nikkor AF-S 28mm f/1.8G lens. The lens will provide photographers a wide-angle of 28mm along with a wide aperture of f/1.8, allowing photographers to snap quick shots in low-light settings and will not have to rely on flash unless absolutely needed. The lens is also equipped with a Silent Wave Motor that provides quiet autofocusing, a Nano Crystal Coat that Nikon claims will help reduce internal reflections that causes ghosting and flaring, and will offer photographers M/A mode (autofocus with manual override) and M mode (manual focus). It is expected to be made available at the end of May for $699.95. [Press release]
