ColorWare is famous for taking in an existing gadget and doing a fantastic job of splashing a new coat of paint all over in a professional manner, making said device look just like new. Well, ColorWare’s most recent collaboration would be to work alongside Sennheiser, offering users the option to create colorful, custom painted microphones in order to suit your style. These microphones that will be colored are the Sennheiser ew 135 G3 vocal set that will comprise of a professional grade handheld wireless transmitter and wireless receiver, in addition to the widely acclaimed e-935 wired vocal microphone.

Something tells me that the average Joe on the street will most probably give this a miss, but aspiring American Idol contestants might pay a little bit more interest than usual. After all, winning the competition is not easy, and having a little bit of stlye when you practice will go some way in building up your confidence. The Sennheiser microphones are made in Germany, and is said to be ideal for the subtle nuances of spoken words, soaring rock vocals or the voice of a crowd-moving DJ.

The thing is, customized coloring jobs from ColorWare has never come cheap, and this is not going to change anytime soon. The entire cost inclusive of customization, of the ew 135 G3 vocal set is $750; while the e-935 with customization is $350. [Press Release]
