Verizon subscribers, if you currently own the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it looks like an update for your device could be arriving as soon as today! According to the reports (via Droid-Life), it looks like Verizon could be bumping the Galaxy Nexus’ version of Android up to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich today. The only thing holding us back from believing this report is the lack of an official announcement or any indication from Verizon that would have us believe that such an update could be headed our way.

According to the Droid-Life reader who broke the news, he was shown a Verizon employee’s screen which outed the update along with the release date. Not the most “official” info we’ve come across, but there have been earlier reports suggesting that update could be arriving some time this month. Until the update has officially been announced and has started to make its way onto Verizon Galaxy Nexus devices, we suggest you not get your hopes up just yet and remember, don’t shoot the messenger!
