If you’ve been keeping your eye on the Huawei Ascend P1 since it was first introduced at the CES this year, then we are happy to report that the device has just been officially launched today by China Unicom. The Huawei Ascend P1 is currently priced at 2,799 yuan, or roughly $441 based on the current exchange rate.

The Chinese tech giant touts the Huawei Ascend P1 because it will be the first Huawei smartphone to be equipped with Huawei’s newly announced Emotion UI for Android 4.0, a new user interface that features a voice assistant in Chinese, unique and customizable homescreens and animations, access to Huawei’s cloud service, customizable Chinese characters, and more.

Specs-wise, as previously mentioned, the Ascend P1 features a dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, a 4.3-inch 540 × 960 touchscreen, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support, and a 1,670 mAh battery. Availability in the U.S. has yet to be announced.
