The name ZTE is not as big or as prominent as other hardware manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC or Apple, but that does not mean they are unable to come up with their fair share of devices in the form of smartphones and tablets. In fact, the ZTE camp has just announced that they will be introducing a new ‘advanced gaming smartphone’ (in their own words) in a few days’ time – by next Wednesday, to be exact.
July 18th will see ZTE’s latest attempt at addressing what has mostly been a graveyard market – Nokia’s N-Gage failed to perform in this market, while the Sony Xperia Play did not exactly burn up the sales charts. How do you think ZTE’s offering will be any different from the rest in the market, and what else do you think a dedicated gaming smartphone will need to be like in order to be a success? In fact, is there even a market for this particular niche that is just waiting for the right device to come along?
