We first reviewed the LG Optimus 2X early last year, and since then, there was this hot potato bit of news that seemed to bounce back and forth – will the LG Optimus 2X receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update or not, that is the question. Well, late last month, we read about how the LG Optimus 2X will be denied its chance at Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but it seems that there might be a glimmer of hope for those who still believe – word on the street has it that LG’s Korean office has claimed that an Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update is still in the pipeline, although there is a very high possibility of additional testing still being required.

The implication is this – LG might do their best to deliver the software update, although there are no promises from the smartphone manufacturer either. In the end, patience will play out the entire scenario, and we do wonder whether the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released only in select markets.
