Since Olympus’ tough and rugged digital cameras have picked up their fair share of accolades in the past, it would make plenty of sense to focus on the next generation of shooters that have hopefully been built like a tank, capable of handling far more abuse than your average consumer class digital camera. The Olympus Stylus TG-830 Tough is one of them, where it will miss the Valentine’s Day deadline as it will go on sale only from end of February, 2013.

Being waterproof to depths of up to 10 meters, this is the ideal digital shooter for you to to bring along on your snorkeling trips, as long as you don’t remain underwater for over 30 minutes at a time. If you feel that you are a klutz, then the Olympus Stylus TG-830 Tough should be perfect, since it can handle drops from 2.1 meters in height, and it works even in temperatures of up to -10°C. The 16-megapixel Olympus Stylus TG-830 Tough does seem to be a decent purchase when you weigh up its hardiness overall. [Press Release]
